Calf sprain , I think 🤷🏼♀️ . I had a slight niggle at end of my last run (6K) three days ago which didn’t seem to linger. On this run it started up again in the last Km (which an be seen in splits as I pulled back a bit ) and became pretty uncomfortable on walk home.😕 Got quite sore over the course of the evening , sore to the touch and sore to stretch. Today I can tell it’s not a serious injury , I’ve been out a couple of short dog walks and it’s not such an acute pain. I can tell though that I’m getting some ‘over compensating niggles’ further up my leg due to my slight ‘hobble’ 🙄
Still ,on the bright side, Scotland has a fair bit of snow forecast , so it’s a better time for it to have happened . I have a couple of good books to get on with and I’ve got a good excuse to watch the whole of the US inauguration without feeling guilty 😂👌(Obviously I would want to be keeping my leg elevated with lots of coffee etc 😂)
I don’t think I’ll even think about a run until at least the weekend, longer if necessary.
The run itself went well and I was happy that I’d managed to get out . The morning had started with another hard frost and it didn’t thaw until around 4pm. I managed to get the run finished just as the pavements started glistening again as the temperatures dropped once more 👌
Happy with my pace and enjoyed the run just disappointed that this happened as I was getting my routine back again .
I’ve decided not to let it get me down tho’ , 2021 is going to be my ‘rise above it’ year 👌😂
To the right of this photo is an incline I’ve found that I was going to do the NRC ‘Runner Up’ hill workout , decided against for this 3.5K which is maybe just as well , might have to leave it for a bit 😂🏃🏻♀️😂
