60th birthday today, which I must admit I wasn't looking to at all, I must prefer being in the 55-59 age category in Park Runs etc, but...... I still got my priorities in order, determined to run a 10km despite the bitter cold and ice everywhere. I waited until 10.30 and then set off, thought I would just have a steady run, just me and Coach Bennett. My motivation all the way round was my lunch of smoked salmon and a bottle of bubbly and an Indian takeaway for the evening, although I'm not sure a bottle of bubbly really counts as after run refreshments!! πββοΈπββοΈππππ₯³.
Joking aside, despite it being a steady and 'no pressure' run, I did my 10km in 1hr 3 mins, a definite PB for me, my previous was 1hr 7 was I was super thrilled!
The funny bit is when my friends asked me what I was doing today and obviously because of lockdown there's not a lot to do, when I said ' I'm doing a 6 mile run' they just rolled their eyes!!π
Hope you've all had a good day!! πββοΈπββοΈπ

Happy birthday and what a fantastic way to spend it doing a new Pb 10k run. Amazing time, well done. I hope you enjoyed all the lovely food and bubbly. Happy running π€
Happy birthday! A super time indeed for your 10K. Of course, you'll get a better age grading at parkrun when you move up a notch, I've yet to see what mine is as we were already in lockdown for my 60th. Enjoy your treats xx
Big celebrations! Huge congratulations on your birthday (I know how you feel, 6 feels like such a big number compared to 5 doesnβt it?!). And a 10k PB too - way to go!πππΎπ
