So pleased with myself, 1hr 10mins, ok not the fastest but it will do me!!
I was determined that this morning I was going out to do my ' proper' 10km run, did one last weekend but it was so bad I had to keep stopping and walking as I just had no energy. This morning was very damp and very foggy, don't think you can see properly from the photo, but it wasn't dampening my motivation to run. So running gear on, gave myself a good talking too, please tell me I'm not the only one who does this?!ππ. I know it's a just run but I felt a sense of nervousness and excitement as it meant achieving my first 10km.
So off I setπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ, and I felt surprisedly good, so much so I couldn't believe how comfortable and pleasant it felt. I guess I totally understand coach Bennett's advice about setting off slowly and not running at a pace you can't sustain. The faster shorter runs are now definitely paying off, thanks to Juju"s magic plan.
When I finished, my other half was waiting to cheer me home, so as you do, I found a bit of energy to do a final quick sprint!! ππππ.
My last words as I finish my post, sorry I know it's long, hope you haven't nodded off π΄π΄π΄, are to thank you all on here. The support and encouragement is just so amazing and Keeps me going. I love reading everyone's posts and likewise thank you for reading mine and keeping me motivated!! πββοΈπββοΈπ

Congratulations π¦ 123, the first 10k is so special and Iβm glad that your OH was there to celebrate your achievement. πββοΈπππ obey you didnβt think youβd be doing that when you started C25k. Step up on to the podium and claim a graduate10 shiny badge.
Great run HH and a superb time for your first 10k. I think of all the βmilestoneβ distances 10k gave me the biggest buzz. I was still in βcan I really run that far?β mode and so pleased to find that I could. Party time π₯πππππ
I know exactly what you mean! At 8km I was thinking blimey is this me, can I really run for this time now! I swear I had a smile on my face for the last 2km!!πππββοΈ
Congratulations!! That is so great, and a great time too! I know EXACTLY what you mean about giving yourself a talking to, and the nervousness and excitement before you go. I do that thing where I take a bunch of deep breaths, start muttering βok....ok.....ok ok ok....you can do can do this...β while nodding my head vigorously and shaking out my hands....rolling my shoulders....deep breath...βok...ok....β. π€£π€£. Yep, I know!
Well done on your first 10k, it's a brilliant achievement and such a great distance. It is hard to make yourself go out when it's grey and wet so huge congratulations on completing your first 10k in those conditions. Enjoy your new badge and celebrate well ππππΎπ₯πββοΈπββοΈ
Thank you, I'm really pleased with myself. Just starting though to feel a little stiff around my hips, so think I need to do some hip strengthening exercises! ππββοΈ
And so you should be, it's a brilliant achievement, well done again. Try some yoga to stretch your hips out a bit. Yoga with Adriene is very good on YouTube, I like the Yoga for tired legs session after a long run, or of course, the yoga for runners. And some rest of course, you've earned it after all ππ
