I got up yesterday, put my runners on and then set out to wait, well it was rather cold and wet out there! By lunchtime I gave up and decided to wait until today and I’m so glad I did. It was cold and dry and the sun was making a valiant attempt to come out although it was misty offshore. A toss up between a jog, run, sprint effort and a longer slowish run, well 6k is quite a long way for me! A quick stop to take a photo of a small dredger clearing the gap in the marine barrier and decide on the 6k run. It was definitely slow - it took me an hour but I enjoyed it, although my hip feels a bit sore now. On my way back along the seafront I saw Dexy5 and UpTheStanley just setting out on their run so there were “Hallo Bubble” greetings as we passed each other. Quick stop at the end to take another picture of the marine barrier where the tide had dropped and home to top up the bird feeders and break the ice forming in the birdbath. That’s me done, happy running folks!
Only 24 hours late.: I got up yesterday, put... - Bridge to 10K
Only 24 hours late.
Good run for you today OGR, nice easy 6K, you would be very pleased to see Dexy5 and UTS starting out for their 🏃🏾 run.
Well done Oldgirlruns, the fact that you had already done 6k when we had done only 500m says it all! Wasn’t the sea beautiful today?
I ran a nice steady 7k keeping UpTheStanley to an average of 7.30 pace. He then ran another 3k at about 5.30 pace 😱
That’s the longest I’ve run since our Poppy Run in November so very pleased with that.
Sounds like you had a lovely run and it was well worth the wait! Love the photos - it looks very calm and peaceful out there on the water. Another hour of a run in the tank - that's brilliant! Oh hang on - where's your badge????
Oh yes , it’s disappeared Oldgirlruns . Maybe damienair or another admin can give it back to you.
Well you know what they say OGR - better late than never! I wasn't as wise as you - set out for 10k down to the Mountbatten Centre yesterday, thinking it's only a drizzle and will probably clear up. Got back home looking like a drowned rat!🌧
Thats a good run and beautiful photo, we are having beautiful sunsets lately but i’m usually snoozing on the sofa by then, one day I will stay awake long enough to run into the sunset, with yet another lock down and yet more procedures to put in place and update we are getting somewhat jaded about it all now
Great you saw your bubble friends 😀
Yes we’ve had some gorgeous sunsets too - but like you I’m often on the sofa by then as well! Meeting the bubble wasn’t planned although I knew they were going to be out and about so it was always a possibility. Always good to see your bubble! Take care out there
That sounds lovely OGR. I had a series of (online) meetings to get through today so we are braving tomorrow’s cold for our run. There’s frost on the cars tonight and we have been hearing boat horns which means the fog has settled over the harbour. It may be a little difficult to get out from under the quilt in the morning.
Oh that sounds a lovely run OGR. Running by the sea is a bonus (except in the wrong weather). 😄
Good to get out there and run 🐌🐢🏃🏻♀️🥰
Well done OGR, better to go when you have the motivation than force yourself to go when you don’t! Sadly, I don’t have that choice as I’m doing RED January - min 2k a day. Today will be a 2k (icy and foggy ☹️) when I get round to it
Brr! Not sure I could cope with that at the moment, my hip has suddenly decided to play up and it’s rather uncomfortable to do much! I have other aches and pains (well I am an OGR!) but I’m not used to the hip thing!
