Super excited about my 6k achievements today. I was up, kit on and very pleased to have dug out my short capris with the side pockets for keys and phone! No bumbag required today I think!! Nice 👍🏽!! It’s my longest run and I achieved my fastest mile too 😃.
And extra bonus......I met up with the lovely Equi-geek again at our local Parkrun 🤩! We have a quick hug and a quick chat with lots of smiles and then we are off! Excited...you bet!! I know I have to plan to run on as it’s my first 6k in my Nike+ Programme. The app thinks I’m ready! Thanks for the confidence. I’m feeling ok about it, but while getting my running stats every 500m, I’m not entirely sure I can do it. But, I think about how far I have come and I know I have it in me. Equi had said early that I should run on, as she was taking it gently today! 🤗 And we set off! Well, I have to say that Equi ran superbly! She not only was right with me most of the way she was ahead of me towards the end of the 5k! I had to tell her to run on as I had to keep in mind the added 1k! She was a running vision!! So proud to see her running ahead looking superbly strong in her running style. Lovely pink top too!! Couldn’t miss her!! That’s it, stand out and run proud girl!! Nice!! It made me smile to think of how far we have come!! 😁😍!
Now...I can’t miss telling you about my wardrobe malfunctions. Well....you know those capri’s? 🙄 what a pain in the bum they were. Looking like John Wayne in a Wild West film 🎥, with my phone bulging one side pocket and my car keys in the other! I run and the fit around the knee bend starts to pull my capri’s down as I run! Mmmm... too small perhaps? It seemed ok when I bought them, but I can feel the pull every step I run. What’s going on here? 🤣🤣 Despite the crowd, there’s only one thing for it. Those behind overt your eyes, I’ve got some hoiking up to do here. So I manage no more than about 2k at a time, before I think, time for a hoik! Grab the waste and puulll!! 💪🏽 I probably looked totally ridiculous, but not as ridiculous as if I didn’t do that. 😊 I did have to chuckle at myself!! Capri’s indeed! 🤨 I’m not sure when I’ll be putting those particular ones back on. I’ll stick to the longer running gear. But, my running is still full of adventure! And plenty of laughs!
I had my sprint finish moment at the end of my 6k too! That always feels amazing!! There’s something about seeing a finish line, that just tells these legs it’s time to go go go!! Love it!! 😍 I did the 6.08k (I’m having the .08! 😂) in 46:25. Proud of myself.
Now I’m feeling bouncy and ready for a great weekend! There’s a lot of great energy at Parkruns and it feels so good to have experienced it again. Thank you running! You’ve changed my life!! 🤩
Happy running Runners! ❤️

Well done Fabulous! 😀👏👏Sounds like you had a great time 🏃♀️ I love Parkrun, it’s so much easier to have other runners with you and the marshals are so good and encourage you every step of the way 🙂👍
Well done Fabulous, it’s great that you can meet up with equi-geek . Your first 6k is brilliant and despite Capri malfunctions. I had to relegate some old Adidas ones to Pilates only as they kept riding down. I put it down weight loss but probably just old. Did you pick up your finish token then run on?
Hi Dexy, thanks so much. 😍 I didn’t hand in my token until after I got the extra K. I turned off just near the end and carried on in another direction. I had to try to gauge it a bit and turn back on myself when I thought I was close enough to get to 6k by the time I was at the finish line. It worked out really well though. My parkrun stats will show a very slow run mind! 🤷🏽♀️...😁❤️
I was thinking I might have to do that if I can’t fit my long run in before a Saturday. I thought I’d pick up the token then pass it to a friend to get it zapped unless I didn’t get back in time 😂
Hi and Fabulous450 if your capris don’t have a drawstring in the waistband, and you don’t mind putting a hole in them, you could make a small hole and thread a bootlace or similar through. Has worked a treat on a couple of pairs I use.
Oooh I'm going to try this on a couple of pairs of gym leggings I have (which also have the tendency to sink slowly in the West). Have to be a bloody long bootlace, mind!
Hey Dexy!! Yes, you could do that too. I don’t mind having the slow run recorded. I guess my next 5k Parkrun will make me look like Super Woman now!! 🤣❤️
So pleased you did the 6k and... aaaww... thanks for the shout out! You’re too kind. I didn’t have much left in the tank at the end, and you were out for the extra km 👏👏👏 I never noticed the wardrobe malfunction so don’t worry 😉 you looked great and finished in much better shape than me 🤣 I see now where you’d stuck in the extra loop - great idea!
Thank you Equi!! A shout out well deserved. If you didn’t have much left in the tank, you couldn’t tell. Great form!! Oh glad my falling garment wasn’t noticeable!! 😁❤️
Hey 👋🏽 thank you!! I’d just rather they weren’t self removing in the company of a few hundred!! 🤣! I survived though. 😉 10k...maybe, but loving every minute of achieving more! ❤️
🤣 Thank you so much OF!! There was a lot of cheer in my head when I made it without the natural disaster occurring. I thought I may as well post the good, the bad and the downright ugly!! 😁😁❤️
Well done! All being well my first park run will be next week!! Found out today there is a Marlborough park run starting next week! On the common. No big hill! But still planning to run Swindon next week. My sister has friends who run there so..!! 😁
Thank you. I’m tempted to say “Yes, buy, buy, buy”!!! But Capris’s were new. Thought the pockets were a great idea. I can leave the bumbag at home. But in all honesty, I’ve bought so much, it’s probably time to stop. Nice to have choices though. Even if you choose the wrong thing! 😂❤️
