I promised on the Quest post that I would find fun on my runs and write more run reports.
My run today was to be 6k, and I made the correct breakfast choice of toast and marmalade as recommended by my lovely friend Oldfloss .
I had put my headphones on charge when I got up, but on checking them found the plug end of the cable was just sitting loose on the carpet. I plugged them in, again, and carried on faffing for a bit longer....
Ready to go I set off in my sunglasses and sun creamed up in my racer top T and capris. It was cloudy with a cool breeze but I knew I would warm up in no time. I saved my headphones until after the warm up walk, across the playing field and through the woods. Then selected the Nike RunClub 6k run with CB and set off. Slow and steady, I like to run up the lane to the stables, turn and run back this time joining the main road.
The pavements here are not really used by many people but there are bus stops. I was feeling the toxic ten a bit, but looked around at the cow parsley bobbing in the hedgerows. The sun was out now, and I enjoyed the shade these hedgerows provided. I am allowing myself to run walk, and accepting that I need to have these recovery spells. By 2k my breathing was a bit more settled as I relaxed into the run a bit more. Past the caravan park and around the bend, CB telling me to congratulate myself for starting this run, for doing this run. We don't have to do this he says, we choose to.
At just over 3.5k I stop and catch a breath, a gentle calf stretch, then turn to run back the way I had come. Always feeling better to be homeward bound I enjoy a spell of light footed running. No people on the path at all, I run for longer spells now as we count down the distance left. By the last half a k, I am feeling good and can up my pace a little, safe with the knowledge that the 6k is mine.
When the countdown is done, I stop and save the run data, and smile, it may not have been as quick a run as my past ones on this route, but they were in 2018, yes that long ago!
I am proud of this run, I enjoyed it, I tried my best and that is all that counts.
Also my headphones did not run out. π
Happy runs everyone and thank you for reading.

Lovely to see you have had a super time in Ireland with family, and that you are now champing at the bit, ready for your next run, which you will totally own! πββοΈπ
Thank you so much, GTFC, that is a lovely thing to say.
I have such great support from everyone, and that gives me a huge confidence boost. Your voice is always there cheering me on, like an extra Coach Bennet, and I really do appreciate that.
So great to see your and Tasha's running adventures!πββοΈπππ
