Phew...I made it!! That was hard....the wind was in my face the whole time, it was raining.....I feel like I've been through the carwash without my car!!! Last night I was at a party celebrating a friends 50th birthday and for those of you who know me, I like my 80's music...and my legs were made for dancing (& running now!!) So I had a very late night...when I woke up this morning I'd already done 3500 + steps according to my fitbit so yes, I had a good old boogie. I haven't run since Tuesday, life got in the way and Daddycav had his birthday, also my youngest had an ear infection all week so I was busy doing tlc and nursing him....knowing that I wouldn't be fit to run Sunday morning i was going to wait until Monday morning so i could run with the right fuel inside me but I didn't really want to wait that long so all day Sunday my conscience was arguing with the gremlins who were telling me that there was no way I would be running 6k on Sunday and it was too cold and it was raining blah blah blah...they just about won the argument...but they didn't...no way...so at tea time I ran upstairs and got my running gear on, put an extra layer on, a buff and my gloves and off I went...even though it was raining and extremely windy I caught the last glimpse of the afternoon sun while I was running along the canal...I only recorded my run on my fitbit and normally it shows on strava but for some reason it hasn't done that today..the relationship between my fitbit and strava is about as predictable as the weather!! So anyway, I have been blown 6k today, that's another one ticked off on my list...I'm frozen to the bone now, shivering as I type this but glad that i managed my run given the circumstances....have a lovely week of running my lovey running family...week 3, here I come πͺ
Week 2 run 3....: Phew...I made it!! That was... - Bridge to 10K
Week 2 run 3....
Wow super trooper.ππ₯πββοΈπππ
Well, top marks for sheer grit & determination MC! π - and for avoiding being blown into the canal. π
Hope the next one goes more smoothly. π
I know...the ducks were watching me closely in case I invaded their territory!!
Massive well done , Awesome Mama and runner and everything else.... it was hard out there wasn't it!!! I feel battered... and my face is still zinging with that wind!!! Not much rain for me though..... so go you!!!!
Another one ticked off for you!!! Brilliant! xxxx
PS
For someone who describes themselves as going through a car wash without the car... you look fab... ! I looked wind burnt and blustered!!!
Oh Floss you are so kind to me xxx I do try my best at everything I do xxx
It really was wild wasn't it? Did you notice I'd moved my buff from.round my neck to in my hair coz I couldn't see where I was going!!! My cheeks felt proper smacked!! Xxx
Good for you getting out there! The weather did seem very oppressive today didn't it? - sun, wind & sleet showers here but I did manage a run. Sounds like you've had a crazy week & I do hope your youngest is better now. Here's hoping the snow doesn't affect you next week! π x
Well done for getting out there Mummycav. I think Iβm going to be looking at weather forecasts for windows of opportunity this week as my 8k is going to take at least an hour.
Well done MC dogged determination in the face of gremlins.
πππ» Thise gremlins donβt stand a chance now Mummycav. Brilliant!
Yay!! Well done Mummycav ππ Well, a late night and 6k in the wind and rain really suits you ~ you look fab!! And now into W3 you strut πππ« I'm right behind you π€¦ββοΈπ€£
There seems to be crazy weather everywhere today! Weβre an icy blowing mess today so I did a short run yesterday knowing today would be a no-go. Great job telling those gremlins to bugger off and getting out despite yucky weather, a fun night before and a busy busy week. Youβre rockinβ it MC!
Yes, the weather's all over the place at the moment...and the rain is seeking into my old house all over the place!! Gremlins are so convincing when they're on form but sometimes you just have to be firm and let them know who's boss!!!
My legs were a bit grumbly today after hours of dancing the night away...but all this activity can only make them stronger can't it??!! X
Well done, I was due to do the 6k today, but bottled it. The 65mph winds and downed trees sort of put me off....
Woohoo... Well done for getting out there!! ππ Especially after a week of some celebrations.
Have a good week
Your week sounds as bonkers as mineβs been MC, except I gave myself the week off after my 6k on Tuesday and Iβm resuming tomorrow. π
So kudos to you for getting out today, despite your boogie-filled evening! Stay warm - itβs meant to be a chilly week. π₯Ά π₯Ά
Well done Mummycav...that's that Yorkshire grit againπͺπ... 6kβπππ
Love that Storm trooper image, and what a great role model for your family!
Super Mum and super runner πxxx
I stayed indoors todayπΆπ¨....
Thankyou Bluebirdrunner , I'm sure my family think I'm bonkers going out in this weather!!! And at the party last night I was an ambassador for running telling anyone who cared to ask me about my running that they should give it a go because the benefits are enormous...and the ability to dance the night away with the stamina build up, well, why wouldn't you??!!!! Lol...
I don't blame you for staying indoors and maybe if I'd have run inbetween today and last Tuesday I'd have stay indoors too but it was getting too long a gap and the weather wasn't standing in my way xx πͺ
Sounds like you've well & truly found your MoJo! Yeah! Well done xxx
The weather was very unforgiving today Duddles , I don't know how fast it was gusting here but it was blooming freezing....
Your run will be waiting for you whenever you get out there Duds...and you'll enjoy it all the more because you've had to wait x
Well done Mummycav! Great determination! I'm afraid the gremlins and the weather persuaded me out of going for my run yesterday. Will try to beat them today. ππββοΈ
Fantastic Mummycav!! Gremlins slayed and run complete! π₯ ππ½β€οΈ
What determination! Well done for ignoring those negative voices inside you and braving the winter elements.
Well done. Get warm soon!
Brilliantly done and I love the peachy top - that colour always makes me look ill, but on you utterly glam o rous darling!
