But we do and we take the bad with the good, I’ve been a little up and down last few days, I guess it’s being back at work the rules have changed again and we are even more strict our infection control was great now it’s awesome we are so clean it’s ridiculous

We got up, it’s 0 degrees so the coldest we’ve been out, I wanted to walk/run along the top of the downs in the brilliant sunshine but Willow talked me out of it!

The track was heaving with people, stay home says jolly Boris so they all stick their coats on gather their kids and friends and off out they go!

Can’t blame them

After 1k I peeled off and ran round the lake, wet slippery steep and stubbly the sun across the water and swans etc gliding past

Out into the road, decided not to cross to the seafront side busy busy and a long way out of town it’ll only get more crowded

Turned beside the golf course and jogged on, my reasoning being at least it’s wide and I can get out the way of people, Willow was back in the car, half hour slow run for both of us, I’m off today back to work tomorrow

Have a wonderful new year whatever you are doing and let’s hope for freedom from this virus soon

The exciting news is i get my first dose of the vaccine next tuesday and I booked a midday appointment so I can run first 😀

I had mine( Pfizer) on the 22nd December, post jab my arm was sore, and I mean sore!, but it was manageable and ok within 48 hours, no other issues, I didn't feel ill at all. A lot of my team have had it, I don't know anyone who was any worse than after their flu jab!We certainly need to embrace this to get back to normal. X

Yes I’ve heard that 10 out of 16 staff in a local care home are refusing to have it. I can’t believe it. I’m going to be there like a shot.

Some of our staff are saying no, I can’t believe after the year we have had anyone would say no! what does it matter if your arms sore for a day or two? or if you feel a little under the weather if it saves the lives of those around you? we’ve worked so hard to keep everyone safe, and there’s just a chance that if enough are vaccinated we can run together or go to work and not have to change into scrubs and seal our home clothes in a bag,

I don’t know what it is, back in autumn when we could eat out we booked our people for meals out, they’ve missed out on so much this year, and a few staff refused to take them as they didn’t feel safe, their choice but it’s same staff saying no vaccine, the very people ai would expect to push to the front of the queue, I’m thrilled and excited because it might mean that one day next year I can wrap my daughter in my arms again, she’s at the hospital I’m at a care home we can’t risk a hug 🤗

I wonder if it's an age thing (that makes me feel old!) The only staff I know who have declined the vaccine have been under 30, they think they don't need it. The news outlets have been irresponsible, but unless it's mandatory people still have a choice.

I feel the same. It is a bit up and down at the moment.

The news is both encouraging, with the new vaccine coming online, and depressing at the same time - no need to say why here. Let's hope Tier 4 is enough, but all the experts seem to be saying it won't be. I can't imagine what it must be like working on the front line so massive kudos and thanks to you. 🙏👏👏👏😍

You are right that we keep going - what other choice is there? I said something similar to Jools2020, but I really believe we will leave this torrid year behind us as better and stronger versions of ourselves, and we are so fortunate to have running in our lives.

Another great post, I always feel like I'm running with you, obviously at a social distance 👍 So many more people are out walking now than any other year, I find I have to dog walk early or late otherwise its really busy on the footpaths I tend to use.Good news about your jab as well

It's ok to feel up and down, especially when you're on the sharp end of it. It's noticeable here since we went into T4, so many more people out and about. I'm guessing they must be staying local instead of taking themselves off somewhere. I find myself crossing the road a lot!Good luck with that vaccine, wishing you both a happy and healthy new year x

Yes people everywhere, i’m now being tested 3 times a week though so if we catch the virus it’ll be picked up quickly, the vaccine eventually may keep those around us safe Happy New Year

Brilliant news re the vaccine , it’s difficult not to be ‘up and down’ when it’s all ‘shifting sands’ but I’m sure better days are ahead .

I don’t like busy , I get a bit out of sorts if ‘everyone’ is out and about on my usually quiet routes . I live in a very quiet village but the beaches and lighthouse are popular haunts . Only seems fair , I need to learn to share gracefully 😂😂

Agreed, it’s no wonder my brain aches - I don’t like to go out to a certain place because I get anxiety if there are too many people but I also feel downhearted to see usually bustling places empty and lifeless. Ho hum. We just have to keep looking forward.
