There were no gremlins, we knew we were going to run, we woke to rain but there was a glimmer of hope on the horizon.
I’m still feeling a little out of sorts, Christmas cheer turns into being slightly delicate a day or two later
We drove to our usual park and looked at the cars lining both sides of the road, unloading dogs children bikes scooters and what else so drove to the seafront, rummaged around in the car and came up with a pound for the ticket machine, not sure how i’ll get a trolley in sainsburys when i go now i’ve used the pound but no matter
Crossed the road by the lights said ready when you are and off we belted, way too fast straight into the wind without a proper warm up, the sea was boiling the sun was shining and we soon slowed right down
And this is what I love about running, being out feeling strong and free
It started to get busier, there’s a narrow bit of the path and people were queuing up to get through so at just under 2k we turned for home, Adam Ant had been belting in my ears and suddenly stopped, so I ran back listening to the drone of cars and crashing waves, when i reached 4k I went down to the edge of the sea to take photos and by the time i staggered back to the path (the storm has thrown the stones up and it’s very steep) Willow had caught me up, we crossed the road together, he went to get the car and I ran to our usual parking place where i got to 5k and Willow picked me up
Home, cup of tea, ooo healthy eating starts today and i’d left a little pile of apples and oranges on the cooker to remind me.....then I turned round and oh dear there was the Christmas cake, so that’s breakfast sorted yum
Happy running everyone
