Morning runners! Just completed today's run, a 1hr mindful miles run on the NRC and also the first run with the new chest light! I already loved gadgets but learning to run has certainly enabled my love of gadgets to grow π€£
This new toy has a directional front white light with 2 brightness levels, made easy work of my usually terrifyingly dark park track AND allowed me to pull off a few Ironman impressions when I thought nobody was around π also came with a red light on the back to warn people I was there and I certainly felt safer on the roads with these on! Be safe be seen this time of year folks ππ»
Run itself was smooth as butter, 1 hour 6.2 miles at a steady pace, few slowdowns for traffic lights (how annoying is that!π€£) some new routes added and a massive realization that I could easily keep going if I wanted to!
I think I actually enjoyed the full run too, ran down a path where i first fell off my BMX while learning to ride one handed back in the 80s π€£, weird how memories like that pop back in your head after so many years! Reminded me I didn't give up on learning to ride one handed, I mastered that and then learned to ride no handed! I think my point is don't give up, learn from mistakes and do better each time π
Hope everyone has a great day and hope your runs are gazelle like π¦

Great 1hr memory run, what a weird and wonderful thing the mind is, all those stored events that just pop out at unexpected moments. Happy running π€
Boys with new toys πππ- going great guns Jericho-pulling big numbers consistently now- Iβm going to try out a new route on Saturday- not sure how far it is though-itβs going to be either a perfect little add on to my distance already or a very long walk home π
Nice one ππ»ππ» And a first try out with the new chest torch π¦ Sounds good and I can only imagine your Ironman impressions on your run π€£π€£ Love the memories too! Another plus of running (no end to then as far as I can see??) is a good run allows your mind to wander and ponder and go to almost meditative places you just donβt get the time for in normal non-running time. I remember learning to ride hands free as a kid.. it was so important at the time but that margin for error while showing off was always pretty high if I recall π€£π€£
Iβm hoping to get back at it soon but I know I shouldnβt rush it, otherwise I wonβt properly heal (I think I keep doing that) - patience and all that! π£
Iβve put the body torch on my Christmas list though and Iβll keep you all posted on my progress π loving reading all the gangβs posts π
Aaaargh! SD that's a nightmare! Injuries are a pain in the butt. Probably best to rest them up fully and not risk making them worse. Especially with outside conditions being how they are. Hopefully ya will be back before too long π€π»
I use a chest light, I have a Karrimor one, and Iβve found it a great piece of kit. I bought it after taking a tumble when running on an unlit stretch of road. I use the NRC runs too π
