It wasnt fast (1.11), and it certainly wasnt pretty!
I started C25K last year (for a bet), and graduated last July. This year, my friend challenged me to run in a charity race at the end of this month...10k. (Gulp)
So as it's a flat course and for charity I took up the challenge. I've been running the Ju Ju plan. Only I realised I'd need to lop a week off it if I'm to be confident about the 10k. Today was supposed to be a 9k run, but I'd run 9.5k before I realised it, so a bit like Forrest Gump, I just ran on π€£. Breathing was fine, and legs are not complaining. My face is on fire, and my hair is stuck to my head. When I got home the sight of me frightened the dog! π€£π€£
Running at 63 years of age feels like a kind of weird madness! Scary biscuits!

Well done Teresa, itβs amazing how many of us accidentally forgot that 2nd 9k and completed 10k a week early. Congratulations on your graduation, and enjoy your race. Thatβs very speedy too. πββοΈππ»ππ»ππ«πΎπ₯π
Thank you! My mother passed away suddenly from a heart attack at the age I am now. I sometimes wonder what she would make of her eejit of a daughter running 10k in the rain π
My mother never walked the length of herself. Shopping and getting a bargain was her thing. Many an hour I spent trailing after her and giving it plenty with heavy sighs. She could bargain anywhere. As there were 8 children to feed, she made sure she got her moneys worth. She would still be telling me to buy stuff slightly bigger so I'd grow into it. π
Different times and generation. πββοΈπββοΈ
