My plan had actually been to run my 7k on Sunday, just to give me one additional recovery day and the weather report suggested a rainy Saturday and a sunny Sunday.
But this morning appeared with a sunny blue sky, and I just couldn’t resist.
So I celebrated the end of week 3 of the Magic Plan with a slow 7k. I have to admit it wasn’t as easy as last long run of 6k, and by the end I had to keep remembering for my head not to droop down. I think it was because I didn’t drink enough water yesterday. But it was still a fine run, and the middle section along the former rail-line is just so gorgeous.
And that so many walkers, runners and horse-riders use it, it does not matter so much to me anymore. I’ve learned to be in my zone.
And in this weather and on such a lovely route, that is easy!
Happy running everyone!

Well done CBDB that’s a great result for you.👏👏 It’s so easy to forget to hydrate 💦properly when it’s cold and wet outside, but it’s so important!Every run is different, even if you’re running the same route in the same conditions at the same time of day etc.
Congratulations on your 7K, onwards and upwards to 8K now, and you’ve got an extra rest day too by running a day early, which can’t be bad!😊 Good luck👍
Well done CBDB, congratulations on your first 7k 💪🏻 you’ll be reaching 10k in no time at this rate. Biggest thing I’ve learnt for distance is to get my breathing right and into a good rhythm, taking nice deep breaths in as I jog along. 👍
Well done CBDB! That looks such a gorgeous place to run- I’m sure being in nice surroundings helps our running! I’m very conscious that lots of people are pounding the streets of towns and cities.
Definitely! Gorgeous place although I have to first run through the centre of my town/small-city (and yes, with a lot of traffic and people at the moment). Thank you!
Yeah... and as I at the moment just double back (it will become a circular route at 11k) it is very tempting to run on. But I was strict with myself and ran exactly 7.01k! 👌🏼
Thank you! Yes, it’s going to be great to start the new year with or near to 10k runs (once a week). And by the time I have my one year anniversary in April, 10k might be consolidated! Amazing 🤩. Who’d have thought! And thanks to everyone in this community who helps us newbies keep going!
