Thankyou so much damienair for hosting the November Quest - I hope you, and all the Questors had great fun with it!!! Everyone feel free to share how you got on πππ
Ah, but you may have noticed that there has been no December Quest posted. This is because even admins need a Christmas holiday! π
β TheQuest will be back in January 2021! It'll be a brand New Year so get your thinking caps on! What are your long-term ambitions or dreams? Think big! And what about shorter-term goals? How will you go about putting your plans into action?
AND IN THE MEANTIME, there are plentiful seasonal shenanigans going on to keep you motivated!!!
β The Take it to the Bridge Winter Speed Challenge is running this month until the 20th! Run 1 km or 1 mile as fast as you can - there's still time to join in:
β Then there's the 1st Workout Advent : CBDB βs Weekly Countdown to Xmas over on Strength & Flex, with a selection of online workouts to try being posted every Sunday!
β Over on the Marathon forum there will be a 2021 Distance Challenge to see out the year with style - details coming very soon!!
β And if you fancy having a go at a HALF MARATHON next year, linda9389 is collecting names for a new Spring 2021 Half Marathon Group also on Marathon:
Thank you to damienair for leading the November Quest, Its been really helpful to be accountable and part of the Quest team.
Happy to report a successful month. My running rehab 2x a week is going well, next run will be Wk8 R3. I have been varying my route and finding my feet again.
Daily yoga with Adriene...Yes
Strength and conditioning exercises 3x a week...Yes
Dry November...Yes ( except for the 1st of Novπ)
During December I will be carrying on with the above.... ( with the odd glass of wine though) I may hit the Graduation podium again before Christmas, so will be ready for a new quest in January!
Well done to all the November Questers and Happy December running.πββοΈπββοΈπxxx
Thank you Roseabi, you admins definitely deserve a rest . In addition to the speed challenge, I will also be completing the advent bingo card compiled by Forest_Run_Beginner . Perhaps it could go on pinned posts. ππ€Άπ§βππ π»π
Thank you Admins. This is a great group to be part of. Thanks for all your hard work on here when there are so many other demands on your time. Merry Christmas and enjoy your time off x
Ah thanks guys. Iβm so sorry that my work got a little mad there for the last couple of weeks. I didnβt do the running that I had planned to do myself. And I missed a few replies. I am so looking forward to my break at Christmas. I have 7 days left to take which means Iβll have a full 2 weeks off. 2 weeks for me, 2 weeks for running and walking.
Thank you so much to all of the Admins who make everything work and put so much of their time and effort in to this community, you are all wonderful.
Thank you too to all my new VRB's who encourage, support and motivate me without even realising it. There are days when I only go out because I've told you lot I would or read someone else's post.
I hope you all stay safe and healthy and wish you all many happy runs where you can, and where you can't, be kind to yourselves, relax, heal and enjoy.
Thank you ππ€Άπ πβπββοΈπββοΈ
I was pipped at the post with my running goal last month and failed to achieve the final 3km outing which took me by surprise and was disappointing. Yoga was in the bag and yippee, my own bike saddle was put on my son's road bike which is on the turbo so I have done a bit of that (although anything more than 5 minutes proves to be unwise)
I have Virtual Racing's Fitness Advent Calendar to work through this month (what a lovely medal!) It takes fitness quite broadly - day 1 was a bit of a killer set of exercises for me but since then there's been 'Get your 5 a day''Find a fitness buddy' (which might be phoning a friend whilst you are on a power walk - as one of my closest friends does with me although I find it a bit unnerving that she's breathing fast) and today is Giving compliments.
So here is one (an easy win for me): thank you to all the admins on the HU running groups. I've knocked around here longer than most and you do a fine job, creating a space that is remarkable in social media for its safety and value.
