Thank you all for taking part !

Welcome to the Finish line of the November Quest!

Or is it the Start line for December ?

I hope you have all had a good final week?

If needed, here is a link to last weeks post.

healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

We have certainly had one or two weather challenges thrown in the mix lately but did you manage to complete your goals?

Please let us know .

For me the last couple of weeks have been challenging , i had to cut one run shorter than planned due to a stomach ache and then i have been struggling with Sinus problems and associated headaches which are now slowly clearing a bit thankfully.

My last run was on Thursday and then i was away over the weekend .

Hopefully now i can start (Again) to try and get back on track with both the Yoga and the running.

I have enjoyed reading all your challenges this month and wish you all good luck with your future quests but it is now time to hand over to Irishprincess and wish her luck for the December Quest.

Thank you all for taking part.

Best wishes, Ian

My quest has been fulfilled: I reached 10 miles on Saturday!

So now I have a week off running and plan to run a 5K on Sunday.

The quest for now is to try to run 3 times a week (if life doesn't get in the way).

And to make it - as always - 2x5K + 1x10K.

Well done on overcoming those malady obstacles, life is never straightforward! I hope your trip to see “Pink Floyd” was fun though, I’m sure you had a cracking time. This month has whizzed past, and the last week has seen me do some shorter runs, and I’ve just come back from a pre work 7k which felt good. Almost as good as it being pay day! Now I just need to remember it’s Christmas soon and not to spend all my hard earned lolly on running stuff 🤣. All the best Ian! 😊😊😊

Thank you Kate !Well done on getting in a pre work 7K 😁

Ooh, payday 😬

I'm sure you deserve a little treat for yourself 😁

I'm certainly starting to feel a little better , just hope it continues now .

And yes , had a great night at the gig 👍

Happy to report my quest for November has been completed - running 4x per week (bar that one week with the cold!), including 1x 10K.

Total of 81.97KM run for the month, and I no longer get the pre-10K scaries.

On to December!

Instructor57 profile image

That's great ! Well done .And in pleased to hear you no longer get the pre 10k scaries 😁

Thank you for hosting us this month Instructor57, I have loved your autumn pics.

A mixed month of running for me. The first half I coped with the after affects of a cold and found it difficult to run without jeffing, and then everything came together and I achieved a best this year parkrun time. I have enjoyed mixing up the runs too, with intervals and different routes.

Who knows what December will bring!

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10 in reply to Dexy5

Thank you !And yes, it's been mixed for me !

But my first half was better .

Well done on the parkrun PB 👍

And yes, mixing things up and having new routes certainly helps .

Good luck for December !

This month has been a total washout for me. Not good at all. Still in search of my mojo, all those pesky gremlins have ganged up on me plus other stuff has also got in the way so.... Here's hoping December will bring more joy, motivation and consistency 🤞Thanks for hosting this month's quest 😊

Instructor57 profile image

Oh dear !Certainly the 2nd half was a struggle for me .

Let's hope things pick up for us in December 🤞

"More of the same" completed.

I've done approximately 180km of actual running (excluding the warm up/cool down walks) this month. That's 112 miles.

I've done two half marathon distances this month. I had planned to extend to 24km but the wintry weather (and being cautious about a rubbed Achilles) put paid to that.

I've done a few different routes, including a trail run that took me partly through a new area of woodland and increased the amount of climbing in the runs. (I've almost got the 2000m run climbing badge in Strava, but I'd need to do a long run today to complete it, and that ain't happening.)

Apart from landing on my bum yesterday after slipping on black ice, I've avoided injury.

Looking ahead, I hope to keep up a similar amount of activity in the future.

Well done on completing 'More of the same' And in particular the 2 H M's !

Glad you didn't hurt yourself with the fall.

I was surprised to see the snow while I was in Stockport !

And I had to finish the month with another run, didn't I? So the total is now closer to 185km.

Haha, you sneaked that one in just in time 😁👍

Not a bad week for me. The gods must have dealt me a fair hand as my running days missed the worst of the weather. I enjoyed all my easy paced runs and the fast workout on Sunday.

Already thinking of the next goals, plotting my routes on the map app. But that’ll be happening next month and into the new year. 🙂

Hope you get back on track, Ian. Thanks for hosting! 🙂

Thank you for leading the November Quest Instructor57, and well done to those who managed to make their targets.👍👌🍁

My month started well, but after my flu jab I came down with a headcold that sapped all my energy and I had body and head aches... I hardly managed any Yoga and even though I feel better now am struggling to find the time for myself to exercise.

I have had my Covid booster now so 🤞will be ready to begin the December Quest as I turn over the calender page...Refresh, recharged and ready for action!

Hope you and fellow sufferers can all get back on track with Irish Princess.

The first half of the month was bang on target but the last week or so life has intervened. The weather here has now turned to snow so I don't suppose I'll be doing much more running until it melts, and it's absolutely freezing so I don't think that'll be any time soon. One I get back to the UK mid month I'll be more in charge of my own destiny.

Thanks for organising the Quest, now I've got to think of something for next month :)

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10 in reply to Yesletsgo

Thanks !And yes, the first half of the month was fine for me also , then downhill 😐

Actually I was away over the weekend and had snow where I was but probably not as much as you 😁

At least if we think about something for next month we will at least have a target 😁

I too started better than I ended....cough, sore throat and visitors hasn't helped. Managed a slow 5k this morning and hope to do better in December. Thanks for your support of quest when you weren't feeling great either.

Thank you , it's been fun 🙂There seems to be a lot of colds around at the moment!

Hopefully we are all back on track soon 🤞

Not a good time of year for easily transmitted viruses... Especially with little grandchildren visiting....they seem to have permanent runny noses and sniffles!

😔I am still on the IC.

😟I also haven’t started with rowing yet, thinking my foot should get better any day now in order to do a first little run.

😏My foot doesn’t hurt very much, but putting pressure on it, I can feel tenderness and I just don’t want to run on this yet.

🙂 On a good note, I am continuing with daily yoga, increasing the number of squats I do daily and my seasonal challenge ( healthunlocked.com/strength... )

📝So resolution for the next 7 days is (again) to start rowing! 😠

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10 in reply to CBDB

Patience is a virtue 🙂It's sounds as though things are moving in the right direction !

Great you are keeping up with the yoga though 👍

And let's hope you will be on that rower and running again soon !

I feel the frustration as I am just getting to the point where I'm feeling almost ready to run again !

Fingers crossed for a better December 🤞

Good morning Instructor57. Well even though I haven’t recorded my activities much on here during the month of November (l record mostly on Strava as some of us from here do) for the month on November I have managed to clock up 54km. A mixture of walking and running. Didn’t run run or walk every day in November. However I’m pleased with what I have achieved.

So today is the start of a few Strava challenges I have up my sleeve for December.

Thanks for hosting November Instructor57 and here’s hoping December is better for you! 👏👏👍😀😀

Had COVID booster on sat and that knocked both hubby and I for six so Sunday was yuk! All good now though.

Well done with the 54k walk/running 👍And good luck with you December Strava challenges 🙂

I'm hoping to get back on track soon 🤞

Hi there running people 😊Well I've no idea how November has finished already, I know a you get older time goes faster but those is ridiculous.

I'm feeling a lot more positive that I was one Sunday when all I wanted to do was to go for a long run but my body was saying no. On Monday I contacted my physio and amazingly hot an appointment the same day. She was very reassuring and says I can carry on running, more exercises and another appointment.

Overall I'm happy with my quest I did run twice a week except injury week, I did run the 10ks and I have incorporated Pilates into an almost daily routine.

Thanks for your encouraging replies Instructor and I hope that December sees us all having lots of of running fun.
