OMG!!! I never thought that I would ever be able to say “oh, just ran a quick 10k this morning” - well truth is I still can’t, but I now have something else to aim for.......
I’m very lucky to be living in Southern Spain, so cold for me was this morning’s 9c, so leggings, T-shirt, lightweight running jacket, gloves and buff(for ears) on.... sun just beginning to make its appearance, and it was time to hit the road!
Up to the wall of the golf course complex, turn right at the oranges, over the canal, then follow the canal, over the bridge, past the empty house, the fields of broccoli, courgettes and beans. Coach Bennet saying that I was half way there (not concept of time for this one). On past the greenhouses, more broccoli and a field of parsley, then turn right up to the lemons......... ❤️ Running around and through the lemons (photo was taken on another run) the smell is incredible...... 9k and back onto the road by the golf course for home...... 10.68k in 1hr 30mins - with negative splits (9k was the fastest 😱).
Loads to build and improve on, but seriously chuffed at being able to accomplish this. Well earned breakfast of toast with tomato, avocado and poached eggs on top.
