What is all this about?

I’m quite a decisive person, usually. We’ve had 3 children & a dog & had few problems thinking of names.

But, in less than 2 weeks we are bringing home our Cockapoo puppy & can’t decide on a name.

I’m getting so frustrated with myself for being so indecisive, dithering &dilly dallying.

She is apricot coloured, any suggestions gratefully appreciated. Our favourite is ‘Daisy’.

Hopefully at some point she will be able to come running with me. Firstly though I need to find my mojo again which I lost whilst on the I C - it’s probably keeping my decision making company 😂🐕

How exciting! We know an apricot cockapoo called Pixie. She's the sweetest dog 🐕 Daisy's a great name too! I'm sure you'll find the right name for her once she's home 👍 good luck getting back on the running wagon, don't be too hard on yourself 🏃‍♀️💪🤗

Thank you, I’m hoping that - new month, new motivation.

What an exciting time for you with a new puppy. Daisy sounds lovely. My offering would be Honey one of our old pet names or perhaps Molly.

Sorry to hear that you’ve been on the IC. Meet a fellow couchee who has just struggled with these gremlins and only restarted last week almost back at the beginning. Hope you manage back soon. Good luck 👍👍

Thanks for your reply, both of those names are on my short list. I’m hoping to get back out again soon, just need to throw off those pesky gremlins 🏃‍♀️

I was going to say Daisy sounds just right but then Honey got thrown in, perfect for an apricot pup.

Either just sound so cute, as if Cockerpoos need help being any cuter 😍

My mum and dads first dog was called Evro, the first 2 letters of dads surname and mums maiden name. What would that give you? 😊

Dewr - would certainly be unique. Thanks for that 🐕

Hope you lose your gremlins and rediscover your mojo soon.

Although loving Ims50’s suggestion, my dog name votes are Molly, Maisie, Roxie or Lexie.

You will make sure you tell us when you decide won’t you ?

Thank you - they are all lovely suggestions 👍

Cockapoos don't need huge amount of exercise, certainly not as much as some breeds. Longer distances might not be good for her.

I'm terrible at naming things. My sister's male cockerpoo is called Dougal. (He got very shaggy as a puppy before his first trim.)

Not sure if she’s going to be shaggy or curly yet, time will tell 🐕

In my youth I had dogs called Pepsi, Sprite and Tango. I do like the name Rolo or what about 'Peaches' from Ice Age,

Great ideas, you obviously had a theme going on there 😀

Our daughter named her apricot coloured hamster Fuzzy Peach - Peachie was the inevitable abbreviation.😄

How great , a new puppy 🐶. Bella or Luna. But Daisy is a beautiful name.

Hope your mojo returns soon and you never know maybe the perfect dog name will come to you on a run 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🐕🐕

Call her Mojo 😂 .....there I’ve just killed two birds with one stone 👍 ......we’ve got an 8 month old cockapoo, they’re lovely, but nutty as fruitcakes, good fun. Ours is called Harvey as our surname is Moon 😀 there’s a pic of him on my previous post, have a look 👀 If yours becomes Daisy, you’ll probably end up calling her crazy Daisy. What about Milly, I quite like that name 🤔

Just had a thought.....she could end up being called Silly Milly 😂

Getfitok profile image
Getfitok in reply toCouchphoenix

He is so cute & love the name. Yes I’ve heard Cockapoos are crazy, so Daisy would fit the bill. Or Mojo 😂. 🐾🐾

Also on the IC at the moment and keeping an eye on my mojo as I can feel it trying to sneak away when I’m not watching it carefully, so lots of sympathy from me!

I wish I was getting a new puppy soon to inspire me! Daisy is a lovely name 😊 Or you could name her after a famous runner to inspire her to run with you 😂 As with babies though, I don’t think you ever really know their names until you’ve got to know them for a day or so. My poor cat was ‘Puss’ for 3 weeks until I woke one morning and just knew that he was clearly a Henry.

Getfitok profile image
Getfitok in reply toMoominette

Henry is a great name for a cat. She is still ‘puppy’ at the moment, though she hasn’t come home yet. I’m hoping November will give me a big nudge to get my running act together. 🏃‍♀️🐕

We're hoping to get a rescue dog next year. I've already decided to use names of Scottish islands I've visited, starting with Islay - you could choose Rum or Muck though 😆

SO jealous! I would have a houseful of pups, all sorts. Our black lab (in my pic) is Dobson, or dobbydoodah to my grandchildren and just Dobbs sometimes. Never met another one. Enjoy her whatever you call her.

Great name from the grandchildren. I think Daisy is still favourite 🐕

Daisy is a lovely name - all the Daisies that I know (human and canine) are wonderful. It’s so hard choosing a name for a dog, almost as bad as for a baby 😂

We were lucky that my daughter’s puppy was already called Jet and since our surname is Black it seemed like the stars had aligned when she got him. He’s a toy poodle and he is just wonderful. Coincidentally he is jet black in colour too 😊

Getfitok profile image
Getfitok in reply toJetsNanna

How lovely, what a coincidence was that? I think we are going to stick with Daisy. It’s 24 years since we lost out 1st dog, so it’s like starting again. So excited 😂🐾🐾
