OK - 9C this morning - Fab!! Long sleeved thin shirt, wind jacket (shed before step 1 of the run), thin gloves (also shed after warm up walk). 1k in...no way...no way I can do 8k. 3k...OK - I can do this, run to 4 and turn around. 6.5K - damn, my leg and hip aches (physio means I am training new muscles that have been idle). But feet are good. Surprise! Keep going...really interesting chapter in my book, set in Cornwall (Oh, how I can't wait to be back home in England next year, for good). 8k. Done and dusted. A little achy tonight, but I stretched really well and nothing feels broken. Even had the energy to give myself a haircut...
One more 8k and then on to 9k per Juju!
Oh, and I joined the Run for Ruth here in the US. 87 miles before end of December. I got this!

What a great way to get through your first 8k WW! I’m with you on the clothing front - I always seem to wear too much and have to start peeling off very early on in the run! I love the Run for Ruth campaign - is it a big movement now?
I was looking at the stats last night while I was entering my run into the tally and it looks as though a few thousand runners have joined this one. There are so many virtual runs available...so I was waiting for one with a t-shirt I would actually wear! Lots with turkeys (Thanksgiving) and pumpkins (halloween) at the moment. I also worked out that 87 miles before the end of the year was doable and would keep me running in the cold of December. Unlike some of the runners who have entered obviously bogus info (5k in 5mins!) I am going to log my actual miles and times...
When I read the news that RBG had died the world stopped turning for a moment. Truly an icon.
I am only loosely following it, depending on how my body feels! Last week was 7.25 (couldn't get to 8), the week before was 7. And sometimes I get in 2 other runs. If not, then at least I manage one 5k. If two, then the third is usually shorter, about 3k, and focused on running form and/or spurts of less-slow speed!
