Ok confession time. It was only slightly less than a day and a half since my last run. Given that tomorrow’s forecast here is heavy rain, I thought I would strike whilst the iron was lukewarm and head out for a longer run, my justification being that I didn’t feel like yesterday’s run was long enough!! But I don’t do this very often, and I don’t know when I’d get to run in the dry again, given that summer seems to be over now.
It was nice to get out, though a morning run would have been better, even though it was overcast, it was really humid and not wonderful to run in. However, run I did. It was hard work, but that’s another 8k in the running bank, in a time of 55 minutes, 6:53/km.
Thanks Tasha. I don't mind running in the rain either, but the trouble is, the minute it rains, my favourite towpath route turns to mud, and I'm not sure I could bear to do that to my lovely OnClouds so early in their career
Fab work, Neil! 8km is an excellent distance, well done. Humidity = my least favourite condition to run in. I would have waited for the rain like Tasha! 😂
You have been running for almost a year now, so the odd consecutive run, especially after a short one, won’t kill you. Mind you, I am still too scared to do it. I swear my legs would fall off. 😏
Thank you dear Sadie! Yeah - I would have waited until tomorrow if I'd realised just how deceptively sticky it was outside. Need to take care of the clouds though, and give them the love and care they deserve!! Still, I think it's good to vary our runs now and then Honestly though, at one point I did think my poor legs were about to fall off, and my lungs explode, but I dropped my pace a little, gave myself a pep talk, and was immediately distacted by a family of about a million+dogs occupying all the space on the towpath ahead. Trouble with afternoon running, too many actual real people.
On the plus side, the real reason I went for a run was that I was feeling slightly down, and it certainly fixed that
I haven’t subjected my beautiful pale blue Clouds to mud yet, but it is inevitable, especially in the woods where I panther. 🙁 Glad the run sorted your mood. Definitely helps me in darker moments. xxx
That's a nice 8km done Neil. I'm due to run 8km tomorrow but I don't feel like it. It's very humid and rain forecast for tomorrow. I'll sleep on it and decide tomorrow Glad your endorphins kicked in.

Thanks Hidden , bloody-mindedness more like I think!! I hit my usual 6k wall at about 2k And actually, you're right, it was a decent 8k run, and I don't feel too knackered from it either. All the best for your run tomorrow!
Had a couple of going- too-fast again runs on holiday on the Welsh coast! Loved the off road stuff but hammered home on the road so probably have some shin splints type thing...argh! The up side is that I will do more strengthening because it's so frustrating to be held back!
Sleep well and see how things pan out for your 8k.It must feel daunting.
Don't you stop Paula, I'm staying put sitting at the podium until you arrive!! You are doing brilliantly. We still have to plan our run together. Come on my running buddy, you got this!!
Well done Neil!! I'm glad the run helped with feeling a bit low, that is a really bonus with running. You are certainly building a good balance in the leg bank, just brilliant
Thank you. I always try to be positive, but the run itself wasn’t the best in the world. However it still did lift my mood. Running is just amazing for that.
I don't like afternoon running either, though nowadays I can do it if i have to. I wish i could do 8k that fast!

I love morning running, but I’m at the stage now where Like you I can run later if I must. And pace? I really must slow down!!! I’m not so good at that. I naturally run now at about 160bpm, but it doesn’t mean I can quite sustain that over a longer distance!
I'd be chuffed with that Neil, that's good going. I went yesterday evening about 6, I must put my last few runs on here. If I could d run like you, I'd be a happy woman. How's the new running shoes treating you? x 🏃😊👟👟👟👟
Hey QB thank you for the lovely words. Now listen, how you run is just perfect for you ok? You’ve shown determination in your journey which has been such an encouragement to see. You don’t need to run like me. If we all ran the same that would be boring. I reckon that the way to enjoyable running is to do it your way, in your own time, at your pace. Ok?
