After being a bit under par the last week or so and not running for a week, I set off to do a longer run today to try and reclaim the magic. The last run was a stinker so I figured I was due a good one.
I decided I see where I got to running for an hour since I was pushed for time today. So off I went and it really was great. Felt strong and breathing settled around the 5 minutes. On the return leg around 45 minutes in, Run the World came on and I had to laugh. For some reason @fab450 sprang to mind - I think it was when the sound of kettle drums kicked in. I started imagining her running ahead of me with Sargeant Garmin hot in pursuit. He was marching along, swagger stick under his arm and every so often Fab would leap into the air as Sarge roared "Move!" at her.
I did say that you would be my LeJoG role model, Fabulous450 so be warned.
I'm on annual leave for a week so am hoping to do lots of walking and crack on with 3 runs to see if I can't get moving along through Cornwall a bit (on the LeJoG virtual map, that is). I am position number 2000 odd, so must try harder.

I'm glad your mojo is back and that you felt good for this hour's run. Hopefully a week off work will allow you the space to decompress and enjoy some more runs. Am half wishing I was doing LeJog sothat I could bump onto my VRBs virtually! But you know me and plans πStrange world! Take care π€
Hahaha! Trouble is, on my non run days I hardly go outside, woeking all day! It might encourage me to take the dog out more on my non run days, which might be important in the winter as I expect it to be a tough few months!
I'm on LEJOG5 with Timotea , Cantsoimgonna , Hidden and Blackberrypie . Fionamags is on LEJOG6, and Buddy34 and Fabulous450 among others are on LEJOG4. Go for it. I did it to keep myself going over the winter months. I count my overall steps during the day so that I combine my dog walks and runs.
Yay!!!!! You will be amazed at how you can manage it if you count your steps. I'm the same as you - some days I never make it outside. But LeJoG does make you a bit more mindful of the step count!
Glad to read the run improved as you went along. A week off from horror work is always good. I have some cream teas put aside as you run through cornwall π. Also 3 Haribos is not enough unless it means something else π³
No the Haribos are a bit of incentive/fuel for the last 15 mins. Don't know what you're thinking.... Cream tea sounds more like it! I see you are charging ahead on LeJoG. Did you get a postcard at 50 miles?
I did indeed get a postcard. The nearest to actual cornwall I should get. I am glad Haribos is what it is 3 isnβt very many π.
Quite a few VRBs finding the past few weeks hard going, me too. Iβm so glad your run today was a good one. Your description of Fabulousβs Sgt Major Garmin shouting orders made me laugh. Happy running. Hope your mojo sticks around this week and gets you back on track π€
Brilliant Fiona, hope thatβs wiped the memory of your work problems last week. Itβs a great start to a week of annual leave.. enjoy your break..π
Go for it Dijep! Roxdog has just signed up for LeJoG 7 so you'll have company. You can do as much or as little as you want each week either walking, running or a combo of both. The mileage is cumulative. If you google End to End that's the one we're all doing. There are quite a few different ones.
No minimum mileage. Log your total step count converted to miles so that your dog walks and runs both count. All set for Tuesday? Or D-day (doggy day) πΆ πΎ π
