So, if someone had told me 5 months ago that I would WANT to go out and run in the heavy rain with full force wind and be chased by ' virtual' zombies, I would have definitely laughed!! But last night I did just that. My dogs and partner would not step outside the door because if the horrendous weather, but the mad women within me, wanted the challenge, so off I went. I'd also downloaded the Zombies Run app as recommended by a few people on here. Not sure the timing and distance is very accurate as the app told me I'd run 7km in 29 mins, which I would have been absolutely delighted with, but clearly that was wrong, as my watch told me 5km! However I enjoyed ' completing my mission'
I did realise I'd put too many layers on, I was roasting and then got cold quite quickly when I got in. Definitely need to invest in breathable kit. But, it was such an invigorating run, I absolutely loved it.What has happened to me??? This running bug has now taken over, its almost a zombie in itself as it's taken control without a doubt!!!!πββοΈππ§π§ββοΈπ§π§ββοΈ

Well done. I need to run away from the Zombies soon again myself. It's good fun. I've used it doing longer runs before. The game part just lasts for 5K but afterwards there are 2 DJ's which is fun to listen to on longer runs. It fits in between your own playlist.
It is such fun! And the weather would have been perfect to get into the story π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ I must use it again, maybe this time I'll be brave enough to switch on the chases π±π₯΅π€£
Hello ππ½ fellow runner 5! Yes, the weather this morning was perfect for both zombies and running! Donβt get caught by Zombies and watch that runner 8! π¦ΉββοΈ
I completed Mission 1 sometime ago and Iβm revisiting it tomorrow morning to complete Mission 2. Itβs great fun, Iβve set it for a 45 min one.....Iβll keep my eyes peeled for Runner 8 π§ββοΈπ
It's not gory at all, it's quite funny as there's a story all along the way. They just encourage you to speed up sometimes which is great for interval training. I've only just started using it, so one day I do that one and the other I use the Nike App, just a bit of variety ,ππββοΈ
Great zombie run. It does take a bit of trial and error to work out which layers to wear in different conditions. Breathable an absolute must and a quick change out of wet gear to stop the chills. Iβve been known to strip off straight into the washing machine on particularly wet runsπ€£ happy running π€
Good job Runner 5! Iβve just finished Season 1 and now Iβm doing the 5k, 10k, and 20k races that are listed at the end of the missions. (the 10/20k Iβm doing in multiple sessions).
Iβve got a Garmin sports watch to track my distance so Iβve never actually relied on the Zombies Run app to track distance but if itβs super inaccurate make sure that youβve got the settings for βTrackingβ set to βGPSβ. The option for βconstant paceβ allows you to tell it how fast you say that you run (lol you can say youβve got a 5 min mile!) and then it uses your time to calculate the distance...thatβs for when youβre doing stationary bicycle or treadmill inside. So if thatβs set, and the pace is wrong, it def wonβt be accurate.
Anyway, it is fun isnβt it? I have been enjoying the story and am anxious to move on to Season 2.
Thanks for that advice, I usually use the Nike Run app for the guided runs but wanted to try it because I've heard people using it and it sounded great fun. I obviously haven't got all the settings right so I'll have a look at it. I love the storyline though and it was so apt, because it was pouring down, windy and just getting dark. Not sure I dare do it on a really dark run!!π§ββοΈπ§π§ββοΈππββοΈ
