Global Running Day chased away my Zombies!

(2nd time to write this, as my iPhone ate my post!)

I had the date of the Global Running Day (GRD) in my calendar since weeks, and I knew I had to be humble in my GRD plans. My work calendar told me I’d be free only after 7pm.

So my plan was to experience a few firsts on this day:

1) finally switch on Zombie Chases in Zombies run. (Yup, I’ve been too scared to do that ever since I started taking my Zombies out for regular runs!)

2) do an evening run after dinner (we’ll see how that goes!?)

3) run with new leggings

All very doable as I only planned in a 20min run. (Pilates was also still waiting for me afterwards)

So leggings felt nice and cozy. Warmer than my usual ones.

After-dinner-evening run, hm! Not great but I can run them. And being outside in the evening does feel different. The birds sound different. The noises from the pubs. The air is different. Nice! I’d prefer mornings and lunchtime runs, but this shows I can do runs in the evening as well, even after dinner!

And Zombies? Well! The zombies didn’t come out to play at all and in the storyline I was chasing them rather than the other way around! So I’ll have that to look forward to : Zombie Fartleks on my next run!

Happy running day, everyone!

Sounds like a good run! How did the stomach feel running after dinner? I can imagine myself getting stitches in the side / belly or feeling ill. I generally have to wait 2 hours after a meal and 1 hour after a light snack before I can run.

Light dinner (cauliflower rice, carrots with minced turkey meat mixed in) and ultra slow run. I didn’t like the sensation of a full belly but I didn’t get the stitch.

Ultra slow run? That'd mean walking with me 😅

🤣🤣🤣 yeah my speed seems to be the same as walking, but arms kick back and feet leave the ground and I think I look like running ... I think.... 😳

Those zombies are fickle aren’t they? for the first few episodes they scared the heck out of me and I ran flat out when they were chasing, hence I couldn’t keep it up so had to drop something to distract them, but the further on there seem to be less of them Wish I could motivate myself for an evening run i do admire you

Well, it was - I think - the 2nd evening run ever. And if it hadn’t been Global Running Day I would have let it go. So I find using something like that to try something i don’t actually like doing works for me. 👍🏽🏃🏽‍♀️

Yes, I ran c25k after work but now only seem to manage to run on days off

Well here’s to taking as many days off as possible! 😃

I actually sprinkle annual leave days throughout the year, and that does help with running, I have to admit.

I do that with annual leave too, add a few extra days to my weekend off then run and walk as much as possible

Well done on trying new things!I mostly do evening walks…but that’s early evening (6ish) before I eat. I prefer to go out and run before I do anything else in the morning!
