In fact the only thing that was missing was snow!
One of my Canicross friends is unable to run at the moment, and feeling a bit bored he decided to organise a time trial event for the three local Canicross clubs (we’re pretty much all members of at least two of them 😀 so it’s not like there were hundreds of us!)
It was SO cold. And pretty much constant drizzle. Luckily, we were protected from the worst of the wind on the first half of the route, but come the turn around we were running straight into it. I’ll admit I did think of easing up a bit, but just as I was thinking it the faster runners who’d started behind us slower guys started to pass us, and it brought out the competitor in me. It also perked up my running buddy ‘du jour’ whose name is Boris. He’s used to running with his brother from another mother Dylan and seemed to be missing the company, but he did a cracking job! I feel so privileged that my friends trust me with their dogs 😍
Picture is indeed me running in a t-shirt. But that just shows you how hot I get when I run, because I did start off with my jacket on.
5.5k in 34m 59.14s. <— I wanted there to be a spot prize for the person who’d declared a finishing time closest to their actual finishing time, because I declared 35 minutes. Not that there were any prizes. No ‘official’ finishing times either as the rain managed to get ruin the waterproofed time sheet. Not that any of us care as we’d all had a great time.
In Other News.
I am very behind on my training plan due to minor muscle pains etc. BUT the plan itself has me ready for running a HM in February, and I’m not actually entered for one until March, so I’m still on course (kind of).
