I couldn't contain myself any longer. I've been eyeing this up ever since gathering numbers of people started signing up. Fab450's posts all sound so fun and now we have Delly Dot and Mrs Jorge in the mix to name but a few. I thought it wise not to go for it when coming back from injury, but now I'm thinking that the last few runs have been fine so.....
I think my managing to do the required mileage each week is a bit of a tall order so I'm not going to beat myself up if I don't get the medal. But my achievable goal is to run home to Scotland - to Glasgow at least. If I get further than that then all the better! This is my month for motivation - using a Garmin plan to help keep me to 3 runs a week (and hopefully faster) and now Le Jog to get me off my backside on non run days!
We're off on the 28th of September. Anybody else signing up in this cohort?

endtoend.run/homepage/ Check out Fabulous450 - she has been doing some great posts on this. Also Delly Dot and JorgeRuns. You can do the miles over a year and use walks (either on Strava or using a step counter). You get a postcard every so often and you can see yourself advance on the map as you enter your mileage. RunaroundSue (see above reply) is keeping a list so check out her page as well. It looks like loads of fun and I'm not bothered if I can't manage to finish.
No, no cycling allowed, you can walk or run but not cycle, there are separate bike rides from the same people who organise Lejog for running from Land's End to John'O Groats.
I’m joining LEJOG 6... we will pass Glasgow! It’s going to be a great journey and you’ll amaze yourself with how soon the miles add up with the walking... I don’t consider that I do much of it, but my average step count says otherwise!
Well done signing up... see you in Lands End on the 28th.
Good luck and good news that this is motivating you! Not for me, but it does sound like fun and a way to feel part of something big, which of course during these times is important! Happy running!
Fabulous! Welcome to the LEJOG crowd! I’m on lejog4 and also have aimed to run ‘home’ rather than run all the way. (Ultra slow snail here) It’s a lot of fun nevertheless!
I too have been watching this for a while - and I have just signed up. I will be walking more than running, as I have been a walker for much longer than I have been a runner, but my runs will count too!
I am challenging myself to complete it by the end of Easter weekend, so that will give me a few days over 6 months, between 4.5 and 5 miles a day - and I am going to tell all my friends about it and get them to sponsor me for my two favourite charities - so I won't be able to give up!
Great to have another LeJogger on the starting line! I'm now a few weeks into LeJog5 and am enjoying it so far. I'm counting walks as well as runs to help build up the mileage without overdoing it as I'm still quite new to this running lark!
Well done Fionamags, look forward to your posts. I can imagine it'll a great incentive to get out there, I'm so glad your recovery has gone well. No way could I do that mileage at the moment, but I have signed up for the Vitality 10k in October, I know I'll have to walk /run but it's a start😊
