Gave myself a running reward that will give myself a running reward!

My diary made me do it. Really.

I bet you have a similar pesky fitness diary, imaginary or not, that just forces your hand and signs you up to the next race, virtual or not. Ideally one with a gorgeous medal!

In my fitness diary, there was a space to note down my weekly goal, and more importantly my reward if I achieved it!

And for the past few weeks, I didn’t manage to hit my weekly goals! 7 day YWA … nope. Catch up with all yoga sessions… nope.

So last week was the first week I hit my goal (run 3 times per week) and my reward was signing up to my next virtual distance event! (And the seconds medal races have an immensely competitive price tag!)

So I’m actually motivating myself with a signing up to a challenge that will motivate me to keep on running.

So I signed up to the Capture the Moment Marathon distance!

WOAH! You ask, right? Didn’t she just start a zero to 5k journey? Yup she did, and the challenge is about running the marathon distance over 2 months!

And by that time, I should have finished my 5k plan!

Which reminds me, now… what reward can I give myself for the 5k plan?

Happy running, peeps!

Love it - always good to have an incentive to motivate us and keep us on track! Good luck!🙂

Cor, that's a nice gong! And a good price too! If you Google you can find all sorts of medals, bound to be something you like for 5K. I got a Red January one last year.

Yeah, I’ve got some favourite medal sites all bookmarked, but this will be the first in 2024!

I had a long distance one (#walk1000miles) coming in end of last year!

Sounds like a plan ! I’m a sucker for a medal but can’t think where I put them when I packed up and moved 🫣

After a delay due to a slight knee injury I have finished it today. Nice to have a medal for my 250th parkrun 😀

Yeah, it’s a beauty. Mine is still hanging by my bedside , rather than with the other medals. Just so I can look at it as often as I like ! Well done!!! It’s such a nice reward!!!
