No running for 9 days !

I have been running since January and never had such a long break. So here are a few reasons why I haven’t run in 9 days !!!!

Weather was just too hot ☀️

Alarm set for early runs - turned off by me ⏰🤦🏼‍♀️

Fuzzy headaches (due to weather) 😅

Work, Work, Work 🤓

So you get the idea and the days have flown past but today I had to get out there again as getting annoyed with myself and missing it, as there always seemed to be something in the way for the last week so off I went at 4pm (still warm), had my Prince tunes and managed 5K !

I’m on Week 8 of Ju-Ju’s plan now so bit behind but have posted this for other people to see that it’s ok to miss a few runs, give your body a rest and there is no rush to complete either 5K or 10K as you will do it !

Next run - 9K ! 😳

You’re not the only one to have a break, I’ve only just started week 6 thanks to a virus and the hot weather. The virus has re-emerged this week so not sure if I’ll get all my runs in this week either 😔

Well done for getting back out there and getting 5k under your belt. Hope the fuzzy head’s cleared up too 🤞

Oh no Jill I hope you feel better soon, at least we are both a bit behind and I feel much better thank you for asking...think the extreme heat doesn’t agree with me, although eating the ice cream to cool down does ! 🤣🍦

I know what you mean about the heat, it’s far too much for me to cope with 😩 This week has been much more pleasant in comparison

I’m up n down at the moment thanks. I had this a couple of weeks ago n then it vanished for almost a week but now it’s back. It’s nothing major but it’s making me sooo hungry n I’m tiring very easily so it’s getting in the way of my running. Wish it’d just go away now 😤😂

Even the elites take a break from time to time... one Olympian I was reading about a few months ago takes two weeks off running and does no exercise whatsoever on his holiday. Nice to see you back out there and hitting that 5k up.

Thank you UNM ! I’m not a natural runner and still have to force myself out the door so it was nice to have a little break although between you and me I did miss it (sort of) 🏃‍♀️

Any run with Prince is a good run.

Well done getting back to it.

Definitely doesn't hurt to take a break, I really think it helps the body to have a decent rest.

Yes being not a “lover of running” it was actually quite nice, but dragging myself back out again was nice too 🤣 🤦🏼‍♀️

Well done you for getting back out there... I was wondering how you were. I’ve also noticed an inverse correlation between heat and my running mojo... 📉!!! X x

Hello !!!! Hope your doing ok and still pounding the pavements.

Yes back to it after 9 days of heat....headaches...hormones !!! Not a great combination 🤣🏃‍♀️😅
