So having started Juju’s Magic Plan for first 2 runs this week I found I don’t really have a slow and a fast speed up to now- Seems to be very one paced. Have to work on that ! 🤔
I got to R3 today armed with a new playlist. 🎼
Started with Meat Loaf. It definitely had an effect on my speed and I felt strangely “comfortable” going a little quicker than usual. 💪🏃♀️
I felt so good at 30 mins and I was in touching distance of 5k, I went off plan and kept going a while longer (sorry Ju-Ju) 😔
Considering on May 24th when I started C25k I could barely keep going for 30 secs, I have to keep pinching myself that I’m really doing this.
I knocked 1min 37secs off my previous 5k best (only done 3 🤣) and came in with 41.55 for 5k. 🥳 I’m still 61 and although I’ve lost a stone since I started this, I’m still considerably overweight.
I feel immensely proud of myself so I’m gonna take a little time out this evening to celebrate 🍷🍷 and have 2 days rest before going out again on Monday.
Happy running/walking/jogging my friends 🏃🏻♂️🏃♀️❤️

Thank you so much - seems ridiculous to me talking about PB’s but you’re right - I would never have believed I could do this ... and have such fun at the same time 😉
Going to try a little harder with intervals on Monday - I’m sure I’ll crack it eventually
You’re doing so well too - 55 mins and a great distance too 🏃♀️💪 Fantastic 👏👏👏
Hope to be doing that myself in a few weeks - I’m definitely on the time version. Already recognised my speed limitations ... slow and sure is absolutely fine with me except today my inner competitiveness showed - couldn’t/wouldn’t do that all the time - must stay off IC
Thank you ☺️ yes, I'm def in the slow and steady category 🐌🤣 it's good to push ourselves every now and then as you say, as long as you do it sensibly 👍😃 I'm going to try the NRC guided intervals for my shorter runs, hopefully that will help my speed 🤞🤞 good luck with the rest of your B210K, you've got this 💪🏃♀️
I’m having trouble getting to grips with timing intervals. Don’t know what NRC is ? Obviously missed something crucial. I live on the coast so tried going faster from one break-water to another and then slowing down for a couple but I’ve got to find something a bit better
Ah, NRC is the Nike Running Club app. It's very popular and I can see why, although I find the coaches a bit annoying to begin with... they have all sorts of guided runs and training plans, worth checking out, see how you get on with it. I also live by the sea, good idea to use the break-waters as your interval timers, hadn't thought of that!
Gawd I use to love that album back in the day 🥰 happy days 🙂 I agree with you about how some music speeds you up. I listen mostly to big epic orchestral stuff and I nearly always think I’m a character from Game of Thrones 💪🙄 haha 😂
Very well done for knocking so much off your 5K! That’s brilliant. Enjoy your celebration.
when you’ve only just started I guess you make big differences in short time. When I began I hoped to get under 40 mins eventually - maybe that’s a goal for 2021.
I play the strangest things on my playlists ... I finished one of my W9 runs with Pomp and Circumstance (no flag waving). I felt so triumphant 😃.
Today started with Meat Loaf and finished with You Win Again from the Bee Gees 🤣
Will try Game of Thrones next week - thanks for that idea
Three cheers for the 60+ runners 👏👏👏 and to everyone giving their best
Feel a bit boastful posting my times but everyone is so friendly and supportive here and people like you make me feel good about myself. Feeling very lucky to have found this forum
It is good to celebrate success. The times themselves are only relevant to the individual, it is the progress which we are all happy to celebrate together. Weird ? If it is I am happy to be weird 🙃
Well done, going off plan sometimes just happens and they tend to be the best runs. Love Meatloaf and I don’t mean the one you eat, although I like that as well 😂.
Enjoy your wine and congratulations on your run 🏃♀️
