I see you runners! Off we are heading to John OβGroats!
I put on a βMade in Scotlandβ playlist on Spotify to cheer me on and my Runkeeper all set up to record, and off I went! My stretch target as newbie is running to my hometown, not even halfway, so you can imagine how slow I am. But slow running is sooooo enjoyable and so good!
And this was my consolidation run No19, where I am starting to increase duration, this one: 35 min run, 5min cool-down, 5 min warmup.
I see you runners! What a great start to the race!

Beware of Capercaillie though - I once ran round the outside track at Perth racecourse. Not long after graduating C25K I was revisiting week 5, I think, and thought I should listen to something Scottish.
The first track, for my warm up walk was 180 beats per minute! I can't run that fast, never mind walk
π€£ yes, Iβm still seeking that elusive perfect playlist...π§ and then my pace is fluctuating as well week to week. I even considered making some music myself πΌ , just to get the perfect bpm... but then bpm might be perfect but music???? π And Iβd miss out on some great songs! πΈπΆπ΅
I just listen to a variety of running coaching sessions: Audiofuel, Guardian and occasionally a cd of a local group if I want a slow run (that really means slower than usual )
I don't hear the music very well but the beat of the running sessions keeps me running at a steady pace.
On Saturdays or if we are away I usually leave the mp3 behind and enjoy the scenery
I'm waving you off!! Well done. You have begun. I wish you lots of happy and injury free miles ahead. Remember, slow is the way to go!!
Well done for getting off the start line so early, brilliant. Definitely embrace your inner snail and take it nice and steady, it makes it all so much more enjoyable and allows you to take in everything around you too, I'm all for super slow running
Woohoo, youβre off and so am I CBDB! Isnβt this fun? Not only do we get to run, but each one we do gets us slightly closer to JOG! I logged 4.35 miles (7k) this morning and will walk 5k tomorrow. This is going to be such fun!
Naaawww, I bet Iβll be the tail end .... I donβt know anyone slower than me but thatβs ok! ππ’ππ½ππΏββοΈπ£π―ππΎ see you on route!
I started mine today too!! 3.3 miles. Not keen on miles, prefer KMs but I shall persevere! Couldnβt decide whether to wait until the end of the day and include my little slow dog walk later, but Iβm going to stick to just runs and include only longer walks. Unless I get desperate at the end, then every little helps! π
π€£ Iβd put any walking, running, crawling in for which I have evidence, but due to still working full time I donβt do much walking, once back from work. You can overwrite an earlier entry by adding a later one, where you might have added the walks in. Not sure how this works with the βevidenceβ submission though, as I think you can only upload one evidence.
