1) I am physically able to run at lunchtime (before lunch)
2) I love running to Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos (thank you, @AlMorr)
The first is a little step towards being able to run at anytime. I’m way not there and fear what the winter darkness will do to my running patterns. But lunchtime short runs will be a great fallback option in winter!
The second is just a delight, and I could hit myself not having thought of running to Bach before, who is one of my favourite composers. But I simply thought running needs a big beat.
On RunLEJOG, I have finally, finally, finally crossed into Devon. Slowly does it! Long live snails and tortoises! 🐌 🐢 🏃🏻♀️

I am glad that you can run at lunchtime and you have now crossed into Devon on your Lejog journey
My favourite out of the six Bradenburg Concertos by Bach is No. 3, I do have all 6 on CD but I have never ran to them, I am happy that you enjoyed your run today listening to the music 🎶 of J, S. Bach's Bradenburg Concertos.
Yes, it was simply lovely with sun dappling through the autumn leaves, the violins playfully trundling along with the odd flute/ recorder. Only thing is that I don’t get to chose which concerto or movement as with the free version of Spotify it gets all jumbled up. But it did have the version by Claudio Abbado, who I have always rated high as a conductor. 🙏👍🏽
Well done CBDB I think we’ll all need to think about running at lunchtime as we move into winter 🥶🌨⛄️ I can work from home and my hours are quite flexible as a rule, so I can run pretty much when I want. I don’t work weekends or on Wednesday so I’m very lucky to have more options than most!😊
I haven’t tried running to any classical music as I haven’t got any, but I’ll have a look and see what’s out there.🎶🎵
Keep going with LEJOG, progress is progress and every mile is the same, no matter how long it takes to walk or run. 👍
Thanks, yes. And I think lunchtime is my new morning, or rather I’ll plan my day as working from 8/9 (depending on day) to until 11:40, do a short run and then have lunch at my desk and work on. I’m also lucky as I should be able to block out some lunchtimes to do my 2-3 runs/week.
I also realise it gives me a great quality outside activity during the potentially most sunniest time of the day. It ticks so many boxes!
What a lovely idea, must try some Bach for my runs! I am a huge fan of lunchtime runs - and have started to add walking meetings into my work day which I can thoroughly recommend as an alternative to staring at a screen all day as well as chalking up a few LeJog miles!
Yes, absolutely! If my experience from today is anything to go by, it provides a bit of meditative time away from the screen, some sunlight hopefully for Vit D, some exercise and just general feel good and metabolic boost in the middle of the day.
Only problem for me is: I shower usually In the morning to get my sluggish metabolism up. So do I shower twice or do I dare not shower first thing. That will feel strange.
Bach, yes! The Brandenburg Concertos are on Spotify, just in case this is of use.
Hmm, Bach sounds promising I usually run to podcasts, but my unplanned, first-ever half-marathon the other day was to the sound of one of my favourite chorale groups, Voces8.
Having already heard them singing Tallis, Barber, Tavener, Allegri and more, at about 15km their version of "May it be" (Lord of the Rings theme) came on. It includes the lines: "Believe and you will find your way
You're welcome Lots more on YouTube and Spotify, and their own site and Facebook page.
I actually sing soprano with a Renaissance choir and was attempting to sing along during my run. However that's a bit like me trying to run like Paula Radcliffe... it might nominally be the same activity, but the standards are poles apart!
ooo yes!! 😀mind you this year a cream tea would settle round my middle with all the chocolate i’ve eaten, putting on weight when you give up smoking sucks
