Today the running shoes had to run!

Having been on ic for too long, last Saturday I did a c25k w1r3 run with daughter, so really not much running. Then after that I got a horrible throaty infection. So no running again. But, today, I could tolerate the situation no more, the legs much improved, throat improved and the NEED to run took over and off I went!

I told myself a little 10 min run at very slow speed would be very sensible. But you know how it goes...you feel the ground beneath those running shoe toes and you’re off! First k was fastest ever! ‘What the dickens?!’ I said to myself, ‘slow down, you mad person.’ I slowed, I ran, I grinned like a Cheshire Cat, I was happy! Stopped at 3k, cos I’m sensible!! Oh my wordy how happy am I to have run again.

I think time on the ic can givemuscles time to recover, so you come back stronger. I read today tendons take longer than muscles. Probably good to take a few days off every now and again!

Yes I agree with that. I’m going to see physio nxt week and hopefully get some advice to follow to keep me running, meanwhile going to do short slow runs. 🤞🏻
