Well, I managed to survive the Stepping Stone Podcast early this morning ๐ and yes, I sneaked out at 6:30 am โฐ , as I wasnโt quite sure how embarrassing it would get! ๐ ๐๐
But finally after โreturningโ from work (so much in todayโs world has become a virtual experience ๐ป ), I looked at RUNLEJOG, and something had definitely gone very virtually WRONG!!! ๐ณ๐คจ๐คฏ๐ฑ๐ป
I had fleetingly glimpsed an email from LeJog updating me on newest map ๐บ versions and logs, but also suggesting that the position of runners on the map might change! ๐ต
So what happened?
Well, story is that once I had run all the way to St Yves Bay๐ ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ, and whilst taking a picture ๐ธ of that bucket of blood ๐ฉธ๐ฉธ๐ฉธ pub sign, I was tempted to go inside. Yes, my friends, I did go into this notorious pub and just about lived to tell the tale. Finding myself with a group of fellow (by now very drunk) runners ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ , we all decided to take a bus ๐ to skip a few miles ahead. But unbeknownst to us, the bus took us all the way back to Penzance!
And that is where I am now ... again! ๐ญ๐ค Let that be a lesson! A virtual running lesson! And a lesson to not get drunk, even virtually! ๐ท ๐ธ ๐น
Anyway, Iโm sure the team at RUNLEJOG has been working hard behind the scenes, but to lose a whole chunk of the Cornish peninsula to an update (or my virtual booze), was a bit devastating.
Never mind. There was a story to be found in there. And my run in the morning back โat the farmโ was a whole exciting story all onto itself!
Happy running everyone!

I found that I have also gone backwards. Apparently the GPS has been updated so the map is more accurate!!
I have just googled how far from Lands End to Bolventor which is 68 miles following the A30. I overnighted at Jamaica Inn in Bolventor at the weekend and should be nearly in Launceston (I have done 78 miles), however the map shows that I am near Temple, somehow I have gone backwards by 20 miles. I don't understand how this has happened, but never mind I'll keep going.
I think something spooky happened at Jamaica Inn and Cornwall somehow lengthened.
I would be interested to know if this has happened to others as well.
Ooh you have to watch those Cornish ghosts!!! Being Celtic makes them very mischievous and tricky indeed! Sounds like theyโve definitely been playing their tricks on you!
OMG!! What? Can you re-submit and upload, if you have your stats. I checked mine and a couple were missing.
You went in to the Bucket of Blood?...๐ฒ! I told you Iโd get us a bottle of something from the Premier shop up the road๐ฐ.
But...seriously, if youโve got your data, it might be painstaking but Iโd resubmit for each day. In saying that, I had better check where I am. I might have got on that bus and be back at Lands End ๐ฅด๐โค๏ธ!
But for all I know, you might have been on the bus with me ๐! And probably with your inseparable Mr Garmin! I was so absent that I couldnโt recognise anyone! ๐ For all I know Jeff might have been there as well, coasting. Or was it gliding? ๐ค
I managed to get out at a stop in Penzance, but yes youโre right, it went on to Landโs End and further๐ฝ๐ฐ ๐ .
So the mystery continues ๐ง, who were the other runners still on that bus!
๐คฃ๐คฃ! I missed the bus going south. I just checked the recycling box and The Premier Shop wine was low alcohol too ๐คซ.
Mr Garmin is a proper Sergeant Major and keeps telling me to โmoveโ all day long ๐. Iโd have no chance to sit down on that bus, I can tell you! I have met my step goals for the past 2 days now though. Resistance is futile. Thereโs well over 700 people ahead of me too โบ๏ธ and Jeff would have given me a serious telling off if he had to have extra gliding sessions with me ๐คซ.
We should write a book. The wonderful adventures of LEJOG4! ๐คฉ
Iโm sure it can be sorted though CBDB! ๐คโค๏ธ
It might just be the map, but there is a new link to see all of your entries. Icon at top right corner on.the LeJog3 (our map page has changed several times so it occurs to me that the layout may be different on the other LeJogs)
Anyway my map mileage matches my spreadsheet mileage
Lejog is for running or walking, by getting on a bus perhaps someone thinks or thought that you were, dare I say it "cheating" then sent you back to the start at Penzance.
If you look at that cartoon at the top of the post the word cheating is there, anyone getting on a bus or train for part of LeJog from now on should be eliminated from the journey and 'sent home' in disgrace.
My first day mileage had disappeared altogether which was disconcerting, went back and added it again and all seems well this morning. I have been streetviewing my way up the A30 - does give me a taste for doing some real exploration runs one day.
LEJOG sounds like a whole lot of fun, or maybe itโs just the people doing it on here are having lots of fun.
Watch out for distractions in Bristol . When I did the Great Bristol 10k, Mr Garmin had me climbing to the top of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and running on water.
Keep having fun folks and keep telling us all about it.
