Well managed my 50 minutes run for W 4 this morning. Thanks for all the support. It really does help. I didn’t want to not do it!! But it was hard as I got cramp on my middle toes which have nerve damage following disc problems years ago. Not sure what I can do about it but hope it doesn’t happen again. I was well hydrated but wonder should I be carrying some fluids with on the run ???

That’s a good long run, calcium is good for cramp, if you eat a lot of bananas your calcium potassium balance may be out

Good to see your post

I try not to eat banana s too often as I have kidney issues so need to watch potassium intake. I have been trying to reduce my calorie intake for the last few days. ( trying to lose weight!!!!) so maybe that was the issue.

It could be that or maybe not drinking enough although most runners drink loads

Good luck with weight loss

Well done Scruff55. You're nearly there! I'm no expert but wonder if your shoes are ok. Even comfy ones don't last indefinitely when you're pounding through the miles.

I only got new shoes in March treated by my other half to some Brooks. I think they should still be ok. I’ve not run that much during lockdown I don’t think !!!

Oh well, probably not then. It was just a thought. Hope you manage to sort it. I can't imagine how hard it must be to run with cramping toes🙁

Well done on your 50 minute run Scruff55. I'm not sure about the cramp in your toes and you say your shoes are only a few months old so wouldn't think it would be anything to do with them.

Other possible cause , dehydration. 2-3 litres per day every day and more when the weather is warm. If its not to do with that it is probably as you say to do with the nerve damage. Hopefully it won't happen again. Once again well done and great run😊💪

Thanks 🙏 I’m hoping I had maybe just tied my shoe too tight. I do try to drink at least 2 litres each day but will maybe up it the day before the longer runs. Just my 20 minute run to go to finish off W4. Where do the weeks go to. They disappear so quickly!!! Happy running 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️Everyone 👏👏👏

Well done achieving your 50 minute run. Sorry about the cramp, all runners can get cramp at some stage somewhere in their bodies. You could try taking a small bottle of water on a few runs to see how it goes, everyone is different. Happy running 🤗

I’ll try a small bottle of water in my belt and see how it goes. Thanks. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Well done, especially as you pushed on through the cramp pain! Enjoy your day of rest tomorrow 😊

Thanks. I must admit the last few 100 metres were hard work. Looking forward to rest day tomorrow although grandchildren probably coming around at some point. They’ve been here this afternoon as it’s been a wet day up here. Looking forward to a small glass of wine tonight. Happy running 🏃‍♀️

That’s one of the reasons I enjoy running, I feel that I can afford the odd treat, that glass of wine is well earned!
