I ran my first Parkrun on 20th May 2017 and today completed my 50th! I didn’t manage a PB but was only 3 seconds off last week’s PB so not too disappointed. I know my name was announced at the start but was still surprised when a few people congratulated me on my 50 runs.
It was a lovely morning for a milestone run. Slightly chilly to start but the sun shone and with very little breeze it made for perfect running conditions.
I look forward to Parkrun every week, it’s a wonderful event with all ages, shapes and ability levels taking part. Having also volunteered a few times and seen it from a different perspective I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t yet dipped their toe in.
I hope all you Parkrunners had a good morning and well done to anyone else celebrating a milestone run!

CONGRATULATIONS Wizziewood on completing your 50th Park run 😊🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃😊That is an amazing achievement, nice that you also volunteer at some of the events that you don't run.
If you get in early to the roster in Southsea you can do both on the same day Al. Stanley and I ran, them sorted the tokens back in order. 2 ticks on the same day 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Well done Wizziewood . Did you do fancy dress or carry a balloon? It takes about 6 weeks for your red 50 shirt to arrive - when it does you can wear it with pride.
I totally agree with you, parkrun is my favourite run of the week. I only graduated this May but I’ve done 13 runs and 4 volunteers. Not sure which t-shirt I’ll earn first.
I can’t wait to earn a tee shirt so I’ll keep at it! I marshalled last week too, and that was amazingly good fun! Hope to start a collection of tee shirts eventually!
Thanks! Yes, loads of kms! One day I’ll sit down and work out how many kms I’ve run since starting C25k ... then I’ll treat myself to some new running shoes!
