First 10k run yesterday!

Well I finally did it, the dreaded 10k has been reached!

Got to 5 k in December 19 and started consolidation, but had a nasty foot injury in Feb at beginning of lockdown that put a stop to any exercise for 8 weeks, so I had to start again building up distance.

I’m slow but i’ve been exploring my local area, discovering some lovely walks, nature and areas I simply had never seen before. Had managed to get up to 8k including hills...

So yesterday I decided to try a flatter run and I only did it, can’t believe that in under a year, this old bird has gone from non runner to 10k!

Feeling quite proud of myself.

Congratulations that was a great achievement after your foot injury earlier in the year. Well done. Speed doesn't matter, you covered the distance. Happy running 🤗

Congratulations! You definitely should feel proud! And with a foot injury in between as well. Fantastic running!

And so you should be feeling proud, running 10K is a fantastic achievement, well done. Even more of an amazing achievement when you take the injury into account too. And slow is definitely the pace to go at, you will naturally speed up as your body gets used to the distance.

Well done again and celebrate well. Happy running :-)

Well done to you too. I didn’t realise quite how far 10k is until I measured 6.3 miles when driving the next day, try it yourself, puts it into context. Congratulations!
