Having graduated from C25K a few weeks ago, I have been gradually building up my distance so that I was regularly running 8 - 8.5 K on a morning's run.
This morning, I felt so good at the 8.5K point that I kept going. I eventually did 10.09K in 1:23:33. More importantly, I actually kept running (slowly) for over 80 minutes - unbelievable if you had seen me at the start of the year.
Gave me a great psychological boost as I am working up to the Cardiff 10K run on 1 September. With 5 weeks more training to go (and the effect of the rest of the field as I do run slightly quicker when part of an event as proved by my parkrun performances) I am sure that I can improve on that time on the day.

Well done and good timing for your planned 10k. My early 10ks were cautious and I have picked up pace since. I think a lot of it is about confidence. Don't forget to celebrate 10k 👏👏👏 🥂🥇🥇
How long ago did you graduate WC8334? I graduated today but don’t think I could progress as quickly as you. I want to increase distance but not sure how to without overdoing it. Any advice would be appreciated. Are you from Cardiff? I am. 👍
