Yesterday, I completed the bridge to 10K and with the support of Coach Bennet on NRC, I ran my first 10K. It was amazing. I really enjoyed it and when my motivation began to wain, around 7k, the thought of being able to post on here and tell my family, kept me going. Thanks for all the motivation which I pick up from reading everyone’s posts on this website. This community made me believe that I could do this.

Thank you granny hugs. You are one of my inspirations. My route was rather flatter than yours I suspect.

Thank you. I ran flat as I could all last year, when I look back now at what I used to call a hill - 🤣🤣 happy running 🤗

Brilliant - congratulations on your first 10k. 😀💪I also find the thought of wanting to share goals on here with my forum friends, can really help me on my run sometimes.

I have never used Nike Run Club but have heard good things. I mentioned it to my 19 year old son the other day, who is working up to his first 10k. Would you recommend it?

Rest up well and enjoy your success!🙂

Yes I would definitely recommend it. It’s free and contains lots of different guided runs, runs with headspace, no motivation to run run and so on. You can also just choose a distance to run without a coach. I don’t have a Garmin or anything like that and NRC gives me all the stats I need. Thank you for your applause. Yes I do feel proud. It’s amazing what the body can do at 62!

Well done Noodle, that’s fantastic! 🎉I hope you feel amazingly proud, it’s a big deal! 👏👏👏

I often use the thought of these forums to motivate me too. In fact, I find that if I make myself accountable on here beforehand, there’s no way I want to let my VRBs down! Works every time. 👍😀

Thanks cheekychipmunks, yes I feel very proud. It was a good one because I just woke up on Saturday and told myself “today you’re going to have a go at a 10K” and I did. Thanks for your encouragement.
