I’m new to this group. I have finished the C25K and have been consolidating for 3 weeks.
I am now ready to take the next step and start juju’s plan on Monday.
My question is.. which plan would you recommend? The time or distance?
I have been running 5k for the last 3 weeks in around 35-37 mins. I know time doesn’t matter at this stage and I will slow down when I do the longer runs. Looking for advice as I don’t want to over do it
Thanks 😊

Congratulations on graduating from C25K, if you wish to do Ju Ju's Magic 10 plan, time would be best, as your average time is 37 minutes for a 5K, once you have completed the 10K course you would probably be able to run a 10K in around between 75 and 80 minutes.
Are you comfortable at 5k? If so I’d go distance based. If you’re not quite comfortable at 5 but are with 30 minutes then timed is the way to go. You could even run a hybrid and complete the timed version before dropping onto the right week of the distance one for your last long run length.
Whatever you choose, enjoy the next part of your running journey.
Well done on your consolidation, and for wanting to take the next step. I think this is entirely up to you... are you comfortable running 5K? If so, I would go for the 10k plan... the programme isn't about speed at all, but working towards a time or distance goal. Have a think about what works best for you.
I am following timed version and last long run was 4 mile in 54 minutes. As I've moved through the weeks I sometimes find I'm almost at the next kilometre mark so the following week I make that distance my target. Not sure if that makes sense?? My times are slow so once I can run 60 minutes I aim to go back to the distance closest and run the plan again from there.
I was thinking of having a similar plan. There is no way I will be able to run 10km in 60 mins so I will see where I am once I get there and then slowly work my way to 10k from there!
