I haven’t posted much of late largely because I was being shielded and couldn’t get out and as a consequence I withdrew from all things running as it just made the situation worse. 😔
However my husband decided I needed a treadmill and we used our holiday funds to get one. Much better than a holiday 😂
So over the last couple of weeks I have been trying out a run from each week of C25k whilst I got used to the treadmill. Last night I thought that maybe just maybe I would like to rejoin the parkrun community and attempt a virtual parkrun. I haven’t run that distance for over 10 weeks and didn’t expect to be able to do it but amazingly I did and only 1 minute 25secs off my Pb!
I’m back 😊. Next goal to get back to 3 x 5K each week and then get back to 10k again.

What a great decision to buy a treadmill to get you back running. You sound so happy and that's all you need right now. Good luck getting back to 5 and 10k. 😊😊🏃♀️🏃♀️
Thank you. I really missed running. I tried to get stronger with strength training and resorted to walking around the garden but my garden isn’t very big so I think I would fall over in it if I tried to run! 😂
It took a while to get used to the treadmill but I think it will be a good investment. 😊
I’m shielding too, and can completely understand why you avoided the forum. I only come on when I see a post from somebody I follow. I wish my hub was as sympathetic re home exercise equipment! He insisted that it would probably not get used once the novelty wore off, and end up taking up space and collecting dust, and he’s probably right tbf. I’m glad you’re making use of yours! Well done for getting back to it 👍😁
We did think that too. But my husband is using too to walk and when it’s icy or very warm I think I will use it too. Especially as I have a fan to keep me cooler.
It does take up a lot of room but I’m lucky that we have the space too.
Mind you now hubby is suggesting I get a yoga ball too! Don’t know where that’s going to go!? 😂
We’ve just moved house - weird feeling in lockdown. I’m in Scotland so still very much locked down. Feeling like this is a holiday. One day I’ll realise I’m not going home, I am home 🤣🤣
Thank you. I’m certainly very lucky and as you say it can be used for walking which he is doing And will be invaluable when it’s icy or really windy. I hate wind but funnily love running in the rain! 😂☔️🏃🏻♀️
