It should have been according to the plan my second 9k for week 7 today. But after this Wednesdays 5k βsprintβ my ankles and feet were playing up, and even my calves felt heavy, so i just took it very gentle and slow. 9k later and still at a steady gentle pace my breathing was still good and in fact the best it has ever been. So partly with a fear I may need a few weeks rest and not get to that final week and that magic 10k, I just kept on going. In fact when my watch buzzed at 10k, I was surprised and could have keep going! So I am glad I did it, and also promised myself the next run will be 3 not 4k, just to compensate ππββοΈπ
I was naughty today but... πββοΈπ - Bridge to 10K

Oh wow congratulations how wonderful you ran that far,
I love it when people jump straight to 10k. Well done. That was a great time for your 1st 10k nice pace. Enjoy your shorter recovery run. Happy running π€

Ooh!! I forgot about that. And it happened a week early so i didnβt think... ππ And thank you π Yes the time was good considering I was avoiding getting my pace up and just taking it easy, I thought i was slower. All those little but many steps... Cadence really does count.
Congratulations Sonia52 on running your first 10k . It really is an amazing achievement. Well done you π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³
I think weβve all done the same thing Sonia! Well done on your 10k - fantastic achievement!!

Well done on your first 10k! Revel in your achievement !ππ
What a great run - congratulations!
Brilliant. Running 10k is a real achievement ππΌπ
Itβs amazing how many of us skipped that last 9k Sonia. Congratulations on your graduation - that 10k is so special.
Take it easy with that ankle. Try standing on one leg for 1 minute to strengthen them. If thatβs easy, try closing your eyes.
PS lovely pic
Thank you π Close my eyes! I would fall over, terrible balance. π I blame age. Not attending yoga classes since lockdown really hasnβt helped. Same with using other equipment at the gym. But yes i stretch and try to strengthen my ankles and calves every day since I injured one ankle October last year and had to complete C25k all over again from the start two months later. Doctors orders. Balancing being one of them π I have finally got to the stage of 10k but the PF is also coming back too. So annoying...
Yes Iβm missing my Pilates too. We will get back eventually.......... good luck with the PF.
Fantastic job Sonia πββοΈπ
There are so many of us on here that did exactly the same, I know I did, it's just soooo tempting! Congrats π
