I can’t quite believe it but I finally managed to get to 10k!
Last week I decided I would get sponsored for my first 10k run in October so after setting up my just giving page I thought I had better get myself sorted. I wanted to post a positive story so after last weeks first 9k I thought I’d go for 10 today.
I can’t say it was easy. I think I needed another days rest after another Pb at Parkrun but it wasn’t to be. My legs we’re tired at 2k but I just told them they would feel better soon. They did 😂. Then they decided they were tired again at 5k. Well I wasn’t having that! I was going slower than Saturday so they would have to sort themselves out. Got distracted smiling at all the little ones on the beach getting ready to go sailing with their parents. Some were so tiny 😊. That sorted them for a bit but at 7k when I should have gone left as part of my route I got cold feet. I would run towards home and if my legs were still playing I’d add some extra distance when I got home. 9k and I’m still moving and not quite at 90 minutes oh well carry on and see where you get. I’m at the end of my road so run past to the end of the road and then run back and past. Please let it be 10k soon. Garmin says yes just at the back of my house. Oh bliss I did it!
Collapse in the front door to hubby clapping my arrival. I certainly deserve cake 😊🧁

It’s taken a while to get from 60 minutes to 10k what with falling over a couple of times and hurting my back somehow. But I got there. So will you. Just take your time.
It definitely tasted better after the run. Especially as my Garmin said I’d used over 700 calories and it wasn’t that many so a good and tasty outcome. 😉
I would have done but needed to take my hydrocortisone to revive me instead! 🥴I obviously pushed myself more than I thought!! But all ok now but not quite up to a jig yet. 😊🏃🏻♀️
Congratulations on completing your first 10K, yes the word and badge GRADUATE10 is next to your username. I hope you enjoyed your cake, you certainly deserved it. 😊 🏃 🎓
You certainly do deserve cake 😋 Congratulations and very well done to you. The first 10K is very special and it sounds as if you're well set up for your October event already!
Wonderful news! Well done! 🎉🏅👏 It really is a huge achievement and just goes to show what we can achieve when we have faith in ourselves & perseverance. Bask in your glory - you deserve it!
