I've only been running about once every ten days during lockdown because if I run I then can't do the usual afternoon walk with Mr SS and the dog (been using the exercise bike at home instead). I decided to sacrifice the walk today and go for a run in the sun, and as I was feeling surprisingly good after my usual 7k thought I'd go for only my second 10k (the cycling must be doing me good). All was well until about 9.5k, when I tripped and fell. I now have sore grazed knees, hands, shoulder, hip and face (the post-run shower stung!) and, annoyingly, a cracked screen on my nice new phone. Still, I finished the 10k, so it's not all bad! Happy running everyone 🏃🏃‍♂️🏃

I’ll be honest. I frequently run and walk the dog too. Maybe I shouldn’t. But I do.

Me too Tasha99 as I run on my own and walk the dog on my own away from others😊

I can’t see the harm in it. As long as we’re not near anyone.

I can run in the garden for twenty minutes or so - any longer gets a bit boring. It's not an ideal shape (too many tight turns) but better than nothing.

Great you ran your 10k not so good you had a fall. What's worse your grazes or your cracked phone screen 😊

Phone screen I think as the grazes will soon heal (and no-one will see my rather messy face anyway!) but I can't get the screen replaced at the moment.

Oh no!! What a shame!!! My only fall so far 🤞was on a walk!! I’d run 5 k in the morning and then went to Dartmoor National Park and rolled my foot on a loose stone - thought I’d saved myself and relaxed and then just went. Sprained wrist and ankle and fractured the ankle too. No running for 3 months and a Space Boot for a month. Hope your cuts and grazes heal soon.

Take care and hope you aren’t put off running now

Ouch, you came off much worse walking than I have running (mind you, I don't run very fast!). I'll definitely be running again, but suspect I'll be a bit stiff tomorrow.

I fell once (tripped on a kerb) and despite a sore knee and hand I jumped up SO fast and carried on in case someone saw and stopped. Only once I was behind a hedge I stopped to feel sorry for myself!! 🤣 Hope you heal soon - and don’t fall again like I did (next run 😳) I laugh about it now . . . and haven’t fallen again 😅

Poor you! Grazes hurt more than you think and it’s a bit undignified having scabby knees past the age of 10! Well done on the 10k though- great achievement 👍

Thanks! Yes, the grazes are quite painful, but hopefully not for long 😊
