An accurate reading at last!

Morning all !

Well I have a new super duper garmin (that will map my run aswell )bought for me by my fab hubby!

My previous post informed you all that I had indeed completed a 6.3km in 40ish minutes even with a big power walk up a hill. So apologies for miss information.πŸ™„πŸ™„

So yesterday I awoke with great excitement about my Garmin,my stopwatch having been defunked and banished to the charger draw.

So had breakfast ,prepared for my run and adorned myself with my garmin. ( bees knees I think! ha !)

Had a great run and ran 6.28km. There was of course the usual hill so power walked that.

My intention is to aim for 10k. That is going to be a gradual process but I shall get there .

Anyhoo! Here's the photo!

Happy running all!πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Lovely colour! I love my Garmin but it is boring black!!πŸ™‚

Hi Sandraj39 ! It was my husband introduced me to the garmin . He has a garmin for his bike. I think being able to map your run aswell as everything else it does is brilliant.

If only it could flatten the hills ............! ahh can't have it all ha! πŸ˜…πŸ˜‘

Hi Lincolnliz! Many thanks. The make is the forerunner 25.

So easy to use and easier to see when running.πŸ€“πŸ€“

Ran my first 10k today, at the tender age of nearly 57 πŸ˜‰, having only been doing 2 miles for a good few weeks and only having done 8k once before and ages ago. So yep, I might be feeling a bit gung-ho at the moment but eminently doable.

ps: I love my pre-loved Garmin 15 but yours does look very sleek!

β€’ in reply topollyp1

Oh ! Pollyp1 now who has the envy bug ......me! .Good for you on your 10k. I'm 59 only a couple of years older so I hope that I shall become as good as you and achieve what you have. So you have every right to be hung-ho!

I'm running a 5k in July RFL so I'm going to do a park run to test the lay of the land ,which is the same place as the RFL is taking place!

Thanks for compliments about garmin. They are great

aren't they?

Happy running ! HM next for you?😊😊

And... I graduated over a year ago. So the fact that you're doing over 6k now is fab!

HM one day maybe but not for a good while. I need to do lots of consolidation now...

β€’ in reply topollyp1

Ahh..! thanks for your kind words. I shall keep going and one day I shall get to 10k.

I also have a Garmin, aged about 7 weeks! I love it - and it gives me all sorts of useful information. It doesn't actually wake me up and make me go for a run, but I'm sure it couldπŸ˜ˆπŸ‘

β€’ in reply toJaySeeSkinny

I know what you mean!,that would be great wouldn't it? It's a smashing piece of technology . I am looking forward to my next run which will be Tuesday as I'm working tomorrow . Work really does get in the way of my running ha!

ps. mine is aged three days.

Happy running πŸ‘πŸ˜„πŸ˜„
