Pascha Run - Christ is Risen!

After a late night watching the Divine Liturgy on YouTube, I got to bed at 2:15am. At 7am the sun rose over Skiddaw, and I felt compelled to get up. It took a while to get ready, but I finally got out to run a new route, exactly 7km, half road half bog'n'field. The bog was dry due to the recent lack of rain, which is why I thought I could run it. It was wonderful!

Alleluia!

P.S. The Orthodox celebrate Easter (Pascha) according to the Julian Calendar, which this year is a week after the Gregorian Calendar used in secular life.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed your run. I'm not religious, but always good to learn something new!

Happy Pascha TOF! Sounds like a lovely way to celebrate and, if the weather’s anything like here, your views will have been glorious.

Happy Pascha theoldfellow. My first thought when I read your post was that you’d felt compelled to run up skiddaw 🤣🤣. Dead impressed.

Glad you had a lovely run, it’s been glorious down south today.

Oh for the legs ( and yoof) to do that!

I have to admit that I am enjoying the fact that the churches are closed. Sunday was never a run day when I had to work.

Runniversary is Thursday, and the weather looks awesome...

Love to you and UTS.

Ah, does that mean you have fabulous pashka calories to run off then?

Well normally yes, but not this year. Normally there is a great feast in the middle of the night, but we are all isolated now.

Happy Pascha to you ! Alleluia ! Alleluia ! Christ has risen!🙏👏👏 Glad you enjoyed your run!🏃‍♂️

I thought it was sad that our local Church (mentioned in the Doomsday Book) would have been empty this year, the 1st time since it was built including 2 world wars. Strange, sad times .
