Newbiggin park run this morning, attendance down on last week but still looked about 200.

I thought I would try a quick one and see how it went.

At the start the first 50 metres are on heavy sand but then it is a flat 1.2k along the promenade. I got to 1k in 5.40 ish but then you hit a steep slope and steps which inevitably slows you down. However back on pace for the 3rd km before hitting that slope again second time around.

With 1km to go I was about 10 seconds off a half hour time but managed to get home in 5.28 to sneak under 30 minutes. I finished in 60th place.

After coming close a number of times I'm really happy with that. One of my 2019 running goals achieved already.

Now on Day 14 of my 50 5Ks in 50 days challenge and feeling good.

Well done to everyone out running this weekend.

Run happy, run safe.

Blimey! Amazing achievement. Especially with all those back to back runs and what sounds like a pretty challenging 5k at best!
