The run which kept on going

Remember Mrs Doyle, the housekeeper from Father Ted, who foisted tea on the unwilling:”you will, you will, you will”?

Well the Doyle Fairy took me over today.

After a lazy, calorific weekend with family and friends, I was craving a run and decided to tackle the local 16km 8 Hill Killer.

Hard enough but after 14 km the Doyle Fairy commanded that a try a ninth: Treburgett Hill which is the hardest round here.

Arriving at my village on 19km she suggested I keep going to complete a half marathon, so I obeyed and ran (struggled) along the roads until neighbours were concerned for my sanity.

Job done: the new 9 Hill Killer and my second ever half marathon. And I’m cream crackered.

Mrs Doyle can get back in her box for a few months. 🤗

Happy runnings, peeps.

Once a Mrs Doyle is out of the box, she’s not likely to be willing to get back into that box HF! Especially as she now knows you can do hills and a half marathon! Well done you!

Father Ted, one of the funniest programs ever! Well done you and well done Mrs Doyle for egging you on, I’m not sure if Dougal would have had the same effect 🤣. Actually no, it was you who did all the hard work especially on those hills! A brilliant run, well done HeavyFoot 🎉👍.

Brilliant work! Would that be an ecumenical matter?

Perhaps a Run of Commission rather than Omission. 😇
