TAIL END CHARLIE....

I have had to make the decision this week that my week 3 of the Magic Plan is going to have to wait until Tuesday. I've been trying to fit a run in here or there but life has pretty much got in the way or the weather has! I'm away at the weekend . Normally I'd try and fit in a run while I was away but I'm going to Rome and don't fancy running through the streets with a high probability of getting lost. I'm a bit disappointed but I have to be philosophical about it. The run will still be there when I get back. 🤷‍♀️ Does it matter if I'm a week behind everyone else?

I ran in Cuba in January and it was a bit intimidating not knowing where I was going in unfamiliar surroundings, however I googled it before I went and believe it or not there is a website for runners who want to run on holiday and need to know where to go, what is safe, where is uncrowded etc...

So instead of making excuses :-) have a look here.

greatruns.com/location/rome...

and here

theidyll.com/running-in-rome/

You're welcome :-)

Thanks for that Rigpig although I will not be running in Rome! If it was just the two of us then yes I'd love to do that but we're going in a group to see the rugby and there are no other runners - could be tricky. I'll definitely use that link though for somewhere else - would it work for France?

I only used it for Havana but it was spot on, from what I can see it's real runners who write the reviews, a bit like trip advisor for running :-)

Actually I'm going to put something more local in and see what it comes up with!

I think I'll give that a try for around here where I live. It might throw up some different routes which would be nice.

I think you can do that with the "Map my Run" app but I haven't really looked at that. I've fiddled about with the Garmin web app and seen that there are many mapped runs in there for my local area and if you run them or even segments of them it seems to give you a ranking for other people that have run them.

I'd say it doesn't matter one bit 😀. But the thought of running around Rome sounds fantastic to me!! Be so easy to get totally distracted with the scenery and everything!

Have a wonderful time

I totally agree but the place will be heaving with rugby fans! 😬

Have a great trip to Rome, search out routes for a future visit, I can already visualise where I'd run there and it would be great at this time of the year. Your magic plan runs will still be here for your return. Happy holiday

Thanks - I will!

I did the whole plan (at least one and a half times) in a different week from everyone else because I needed longer. It's fine as long as you can remember where you're up to!!

I think that's what I'm going to end up doing. That could be a problem remembering where I am! I've printed the plan off. It's on my fridge and I've ticked off what I've done 😂

I think there are quite a few of us doing the Magic10 out of sync. I fell a week behind because of a sprained calf muscle; your excuse sounds much more fun! Enjoy the 🏉

Do y'know? It never occurred to me. Of course people will be sustaining injuries and of course everyone will be doing it at a different rate! DERRR! Thanks for bringing that to my attention 👍

I don’t THINK you are being facetious 🤣

Hehe, I think C25K programmed us to be ‘good’ students and do our homework on time!

You won’t be behind me 59er - I haven’t run for a week so haven’t even started week3 yet and my plankety plankathon has been a disaster! And I’m off skiing at the end of next week so by the time I get home I’ll be miles behind you! Good luck with week 3!
