Just watching BBC's Countryfile and a farmer started ' farm run' where all the farmers and their families get together and run 5k. One of the farmers that spoke on camera said apart from the physical aspect it really helped his mental health. He's also spread the word on social media and other farmers throughout the uk go out to run also. πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ‘πŸπŸ·

I've been watching that too Buddy. My first thoughts were .... that's going to create some washing! (sad but as a male and a full time carer now in charge of the washing machine, I have these strange thoughts hahahaha). Then I thought ... I bet that's actually quite a tough workout over the grass and lumps and bumps with the lovely smell of country air.

I bet it's really good :-)

I'm with you on the muddy washing as I found out a few weeks ago at parkrun. Now normally I would avoid muck and puddles but there was something so great about just running through them all I was ' bogging' as we say in Scotland.

I bet it is really tough running on it but then there was the lady who had one leg and she did great😊

Sounds like a great plan, I think all physical activities are great for mental health and running is so accessible.

We often allude to the mental health benefits on here without being too specific, It's becoming more common to talk about this but it's still a taboo for many of a certain age.

From personal experience I can say it's worked absolute wonders for me just one of a long list of reasons I'm glad that I started :-)
