I am struggling this week. I usually set my mind the day before a run and get out fine. The virtual vitality 10k is supposed to be my incentive this month. I have carried on doing some strength training, but just no inclination to get out running. I'm going to try and get out later this morning but I know if something comes up I'll use the excuse...... we had a very difficult week on farm (yes we farmers love our cows far too much) and I expect the constant rain and mud is getting to me. I'm going to read the cogh update to get some inspiration for later. Please send sun and some oomph 🙏🏃♀️
Oof where did that get up and go go? - Bridge to 10K
Oof where did that get up and go go?
I’m afraid I can’t send you any sun CLR (getting darker and darker here as we speak), but here’s a dose of ooomph for you - 💥💥💥💥💥💥
Mud is a right pain isn’t it? It’s energy sucking. I hope the common where I run survives this spell of wet weather; so far so good, but I don’t want winter conditions to return.
I bet you’ll enjoy it once you’re out there, and imagine the feeling when you’re back? Hopefully it’ll spur you on and get your enthusiasm back. We’re here to give you a shove if needs be - here’s another ..... 🦶😅😅
Hello! I feel the same, I was mentally preparing for it yesterday, and today, well, not so much. But I’m having my porridge and have laid my clothes out. Let’s try and work out a muddier free route and not beat ourselves up if we don’t do 10k. Hopefully see you on the finish line! 😊👍🏃♀️🦵🦶👟.
How did you get on? I did go because like you I got my clothes out ready. I put it off.. then the sun came out and I knew I'd better go! I did 5 k but I'll work up to 10k again ready for vitality. This was 5k on hills so good preparation!!
I avoided the rain last week and did my long run on Sunday in the sun, it was hard though sunny! This week forecast was for rain both Saturday and Sunday so just went for it on Saturday as I usually do. Cooler and damp but so much easier to run (except for sliding on the mud, I must get some new shoes so I have some grip!!) So in future I will not use the rain as an excuse not to run. So I will wish sun for you if you want, virtual 10k in two weeks time so go get out and run, you’ll thank yourself when you’re on the start line. Well done on keeping up with the weight training though, that’s my downfall.
Can’t help you with oomph I’m afraid Cowladyrunning; I think yours is probably sitting on a beach somewhere just relaxing and doing nothing - with mine! Hope you got out eventually, at the moment I’m putting it off until tomorrow when the forecast is a bit better - and I don’t have the excuse of a busy time on the farm! Good luck!
