Runuary 100k done & dusted

I’m quite sad that January is over as, in some twisted way, I’ve loved the discipline of 3k, then squats and battle rope lashes, every day.

Happily no niggles at all (a rarity) plus increased pace and vo2, lower heart rate and two inches off my waist.

I’ve listened to some great audiobooks, feel more toned and, perhaps most importantly, the pre-run dread has faded away.

Running in the evenings, the hardest part was not eating/drinking in the hours before. It’ll be good to have that restriction lifted on some days at least.

Much as I’ve loved it, I felt my energy levels flagging over the final week so a few days recovery is something I’m going to really enjoy.

It’s been a great way to celebrate my second runniversary (started CouchTo5k on Jan 29) and I’d recommend a running streak to anyone looking to reinvigorate their runs.

That’s a great achievement, well done to you. Not just for the running thing but for all your other wins 👏

This all gives you a great start to the year and bodes well for what’s to come 👍🏃‍♀️

🎉👏🏼🎉 Wow. Congratulations on a very disciplined achievement. Don’t know about those “battle rope lashes” - sounds sinful & I will have to Google to relieve my worry 🤔 But the rest sounds major. Perhaps when I get near the 2 year mark.... Well done to you. Enjoy your rest. 👍

Hah, the lashes do sound a bit violent don’t they! Think of it as strenuous rope-waving.

Oh, that doesn’t sound quite as formidable. 🤣

Fantastic effort, was this a January special? What's your February target?

Feb’s going to be free running to see what I fancy doing. No targets, no pressure. It did feel weird not going out tonight though!

I’ve been doing free running since graduating c25k- great fun, anything from 3k to 11.75k - yep, lots of bits of k as I just stop when I feel like it, often routes develop as I run. Very liberating. Enjoy your February journey
