Trundling along, as ever. Back up to 8k this morning. Before the rain hit! And there were even some moments of actual sunshine. Hurray. ๐๐ I donโt look at speed while jogging - only for occasional short runs when Iโm trying to move quicker. But the Garmin algorithm is obviously trying to cheer me on. Somewhere in this distance run was, apparently, my least slow mile ever. ๐๐ผ๐คฃ
Lots of runners and dog walkers out there this morning. Very cheering. January, of course, but some of it will stick. ๐
Happy running all you lovely folks. ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

I really liked them. ๐ They are noticeably thicker than my summer weight no-shows from the same company, but no pinched toes. Good padding underneath. Theyโre meant as trail socks and I got them for forest runs later in the year. I also got some of their โbasicโ ones - boring black but thinner. I will try those next. Iโm calling it all โresearchโ instead of โshopping.โ ๐
Well done on your 8km! ๐๐ป๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ When I am trying to run faster than my easy conversational pace, I really know about it. ๐ณ So how you have run your fastness mile without knowing about is an alien idea to me! Well done to you! ๐๐ธ
Yep. I donโt get it either. ๐ค Maybe it was the sunny bit? Down hill with the breeze behind me? And of course, it wasnโt objectively โfastโ, just less slow than usual! ๐คฃ๐
Fast is a relative word. isn't it? ๐ Enjoy the pleasure of Mr Garmin being the bearer of glad tidings. He gave me a badge just for running on New Year's Day. I like being given badges!!๐
Yes! Double weave or something gives a comfortable footbed. And very comfy toes. Good for trails, which is what they are designed for. But also for chilly days I think. ๐๐
Yes the January effect is amazing. We are getting 150 extra runners at our parkrun each week, and donโt have enough tokens so last weekend they produced 600-650 paper slips which had to be input manually .
Glad you enjoyed your run in the new socks Granspeed, itโs amazing the difference they can make, especially on the long runs.
