We've got driving rain and what felt like galeforce winds. I've ran in this before so it shouldn't have been a problem. But I was so exhausted. Can't figure out why, eating well and as always well hydrated 7 days a week.
I will just have to put it down to an off day and just one of those runs. ๐๐

Well as you know I also had a off day last Friday, I had intended to run a 10K, only managed 5, did you at least get to 5K when I know that you usually run a 10K on a Monday?
Yesterday I ran a 3K around a newly resurfaced route, including a new boardwalk very near to where I live, today I WAS going to walk round the Drumpelliier 5K parkrun course but because of the weather I went a short walk near Denny where I used to cycle, I will try that Drumpelliier Parkrun walk next Monday, weather permitting.
PS, I certainly do have the running bug, I mentioned earlier that yesterday I went a short 3K run, this morning I thought I had lost my watch as when I was about to go out I just could not find it anywhere I went that walk in Denny without my watch and had to rely on the time on my Smartphone, guess what I found my watch in among all my running gear, I had taken it off yesterday and put it away in the drawer that I keep my running belt, running cap, I am mighty relieved that I found it, however, IF I had lost it I was thinking of buying a new watch with all the times for running etc, not sure if I need to do that now that I have found my old watch.
Well done on getting out there and completing the run. As regards the weather, I think one of the nice things about running 3 times a week is that I can move my runs around so I can try to go out on days when the weather is forecast to be a little nicer.
Monday is 10K day for me but my time today was the slowest of the 4 10Ks I've done. Last week my two 5K runs were also slower than the previous week.
I put my drop off in performance down to festive indulgence and that January feeling - apparently the saddest part of the year for many, especially towards the end of the month.
I see regular running as a long term plan though, so I try not to worry too much about short term fluctuations. Though it's always a good feeling when I see I've done a faster time, the important thing for me is to keep at it, running as planned.
Just one of those runs Buddy34. They happen and the healthy thing to do is just consign them to the dustbin of history and move on. I have been struggling a bit; chesty cold, night temperature, painful calf/ physio etc. , but on Saturday and today I have bounced back with two 5k runs and I have managed to build up the pace a bit (negative splits today!). Maybe the week without running did me a bit of good. I don't know; but I do know that we bounce back quickly from what we think of as an iffy run. You will be belting out the PBs in no time ๐
Sorry to hear you struggled today Buddy. Sometimes, like you say, itโs for no particular reason. We all have those runs. Fingers crossed for a better run next time ๐ค๐ผ
you did it though and I heard a coach say that you learn even more when it's hard. I hang on to that although I'm not sure of it's veracity. Just psyching myself up for a run now...
Sometimes 'those' runs happen for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I do feel they happen more to women than men and I suspect hormonal fluctuations are to blame. Well done for getting out there.
U still did it! I don't know whys or reasons but sometimes that's just how it it is... Maybe so we can appreciate the better runs more n enjoy em more!? I'm trying to think (not working yet) there's never a bad run as such, just depends how u view it, u still did it and got out there... So well done
I was lucky last night that the east coast got a bit of a break in the weather in the early evening so I had fairly mild conditions.
I suspect it's probably just "one of those runs" that we all have from time to time. The thing is, you got out and did it so you can just cross it off and chalk it up.
